What Customers Are Saying
The metal hose mender can be an effective and economical solution for repairing damaged garden hoses, though the quality of the included clamps is often poor. While the brass or metal coupling itself is generally seen as a good quality component, many reviewers found the clamps to be too narrow, prone to stripping, and unable to be tightened sufficiently to prevent leaks. When used with higher-quality clamps purchased separately, the mender was reported to work well without any leaks.

Would Not RecommendEven though the brass connectors fit both hoses fairly snugly, I was unable to tighten the hose clamps sufficiently to keep water from squirting out from under the connector. Could be that the fiber reinforced garden hose was too rigid to respond to the pressure from the hose clamps. In any event, this was for me a worthless investment. It seems to be well-made and it is straightforward to use; it just doesn't work for my hoses.
Clamps would not get very tight
Would Not RecommendWhen installing could not screw the clamps as tight as I wanted too. It would slip out of the notches and loosen up. So we are trusting it to stay on with only a light twist of the screwdriver.
Works like a charm
Would RecommendEasy and effective hose repair.
Excellent product. We have water at our camp on the river. The well is some distance from the camp. I have 300 ft. of garden hose running along a bluff so I can't bury a pipe. I have had 3 large tree limbs fall and cut the hose over the past 4 years. I have used these mender clamps each time. Very easy to install and none have leaked.
5/8" & 3/4" Metal Clamp Hose Mender
Would RecommendExcellent product. It is far superior to the cheap plastic hose menders and easier to install. More expensive, but I think worth the cost.
