Junk - Failed in two weeks

Bought this as a replacement for a post light sensor that burned out after about 5 years. It lasted two weeks and failed. The sensor started turning green after the first amount of water hit it. Failed on so I have to replace it again. Don’t waste your time with this junk.

gone in 60 seconds

Installed (2) on a pair of outdoor lights. Turned on in daylight (not as exspected) and then failed entierly in less than a minute. Not worth the effort.

great footprint. short life

I was so excited to get this tiny bit of wonder as it allows me to use a standard outdoor junction box. The issue is it lasted maybe 9mo. I am running 1 18w led tree lighty off of it. However when i looked at the UL STICKER on the body of the woods it was discolored. This tells me it overheated which is crazy considering it is rated for 600w. Will try a different brand as many others have had this issue.

Always on

Switch will not turn off even when in direct sunlight or shining a flashlight directly into the eye. Bought 5 of these with same result each time and finally gave up. Purchased a similar part from HD and it worked as designed.

Don't Waste Your Money

I have purchased at least 6 of these for three outdoor lights. None lasted a year before the stopped working. Will try a different brand this time.

Never turns off

Brand new and never turns off even when you shine a light into the eye.

DISAPPOINTED

This product NEEDS IMPROVEMENT. I have used two of them in Wichita and two at a friend’s in Florida. Operating life is never more than 2 years. I used them b/c of their small size. Now I am screwed b/c the fixtures have holes in them. Never again!

Great little photocell

Purchased this to place in a Vintage post lamp in a customers yard. This little photocell was the perfect fit to place inside the post, and control the lights from dusk to dawn. Customer was happy, and the small size makes it easy to miss.

Nice and small, outlasts competing brands

I mount these within the wall bases of several outside fixtures. The 1/2" width is great for this. At another box store, they had only thicker Woods photocells (~ 1") which wouldn't work. So, I bought 3 of this model. I hope they don't discontinue this one!

replacement for porch light

I works ! the problem turned out to be a faulty LED module instead so I now have a spare.

Purchased 2 neither one would turn the light off, no chance of making contact with customer service, should have checked the reviews before purchasing could not give 0 stars

Worked great easy install

Ideal replacement. Worked great. Just make sure you measure existing hole size for sensor and you know type of bulbs it will work for.

Defective out of the box two times

Did a wire for wire replacement in an existing application. The first unit would not allow the lamp to light no matter how long the lense was covered. I exchanged for another; this one kept the bulb burning no matter what I did. So brought it back to store and got a refund.

Almost useless photocell

Two barely-deserved stars, because it's compact and did fit in to a small fixture as a replacement. A photocell is supposed to switch on dusk-dawn. This one is so insensitive to light it never switches off naturally. It's located on a north-facing wall, and only turns off if a flashlight is shone in to its sensor - then it's back on again a minute after the flashlight is removed. Previous photocell supplied with the lamp fixture worked perfectly, even on cloudy days, until its relay failed afte...
