Died after 14 months

Just out of warranty, of course, the drum broke on this washer. The repairman said that this problem is very common and would cost about $650 to repair and the parts are back ordered because it so many of these machines are breaking. He recommended that we just buy a new washer. It is unbelievable that they are still selling these machines when they know that the design is faulty. $610 in repairs in less than 6 months

This is my second washer in 20 years. My first was a simple, no frills top loader that lasted 20 years without a single repair (it was still working when I replaced it - just wanted to upgrade to a fancier machine). I purchased the Duet washer and dryer because of its capacity and features but I am regretting the purchase. Broke after one year. Wrecks clothes.

About 13 months after I bought it (i.e. just outside of the warranty) the rubber door seal ripped and the maching wrecked a bunch of my clothes. Other online reviews suggest Whirlpool knows there is a design flaw as numerous other customers have had this problem. So, my washer not only cost the price I paid for it, but about $200 worth of clothing as well. I expected better from Whirlpool and paying this much for the washer. Very disappointed.

Great Replacement for an older model.

This machine replaced a 10-year-old model of the same make, for roughly the same price. The difference over 10 years is astounding. Considerably quieter than previous model and extracts water much more efficiently and thouroughly. There are 8 people on our condo association, so it needs to work right the first time, which it did. Garbage! Don't waste your money!

After only 2.5 years our super fancy washer needs over $ 400.00 in repairs. Save your money and stay away from Whirlpool products! Out of 5 brand new appliances we purchaced, three have had major problems.

first HE washer

I have had none of the problems others have had. I must admit that there is a learning curve as I have never had a HE front loader. Quiet. Holds king sheet set and king blanket (not together). Has all the features I could want. I have my washer and dryer stacked and there is no visible vibration. I have an elderly dog that sometimes doesn't make it to the door. Should have read the reveiws

I bought my whirlpool washer at Lowes they made me a great deal and delivered on time ,they set it up showed me how to use it . I thought this purchase was a great deal until i started using it . The whirlpool washer started making a noise in the tub right after we bought it and finally it sounds like the tub came apart on it .I called Lowes and they had a service man set up for me i appriciate Lowes effort but washing machine appears to be very very very poor quality.

Quiet, Pretty and Efficient, but does not actually get cloth

We had a Duet washer bought in 2002 we liked it and have always used HE soap, but recently it was not getting clothes clean, so we bought new Duet washer. I actually enjoy doing my laundry now. It is alittle loud when it is in spin cycle, but I love my washer and dryer!!!!!

Worked for a few months

I bought this on in July. It seemed to be working ok for a couple of months though was always very loud. It gradually began banging so loud in spin cycle to the point where it was unbearable. Leaves Clothes Wet

I liked this washer very much when I first got it. Then I had a few times that the cycle seemed to get "stuck" and not complete. The clothes would stay wet and just sit there. According to the manual this happens when the load becomes unbalanced. It has happened anytime I've used the gentle or hand wash cycles. Whirlpool/Kenmore

I have the Kenmore "sister" to this machine. Purchased it over 11 years ago, and it just now malfunctioned. That's why I'm here, looking for a new machine. 7 year Duet Owner Here!

I find that most of the reviews are from people who have not had their machine very long, so I thought I would come on to leave a review of my Duet. I took delivery of it April of 2005. I'm the ONLY one in the house that does the laundry averaging about six loads per week. Do not buy whirlpool products!

This washer was wonderful, until it broke down and the repairman gave me an estimate of $967 to replace the 3 boards. Obviously I can purchase a new washer for about the same amount and it will not be a whirlpool! I highly recomend buying extended warranties if you do purchase a whirlpool washer, it will break down! Unfortunately I did not get the extended warranty and I have learned my lesson the hard way.

Great Washer

We bought this front load Whirlpool to replace a 14 year old Kenmore top load washer. While watching the first load for a couple of minutes, the first thing that I noticed is that it does not use very much water at all. After the load was finished, the clothes were much dryer than I was used to. I guess it's do to the spin cycle spinning at 1400 rmp's. Remarkably good washing machine

We replaced our 10+ year old top loader with this make and model washing machine and matching dryer. We've had it for about eight months; we do, maybe, four or five loads a week. It is a train wreck

Whirlpool front loading washers are a nightmare. I had 2 major breakdowns and no real help from Whirlpool. Their best offer..."good for 24 hours"...was for me to pay $289 to have the washer fixed and a 1 year warrenty added. I'll never get another Whirlpool product after the experience with this one and the lack of support from Whirlpool!!!!!

Great machine!

We bought this machine as a replacement for another frond loader that we had for about 5 or 6 years. I hated the last one because it would never stay level and would move all around the laundry room during the spin cycle. I Love My Washer

I have had this washer for over a year now and I love it. I owned a front loader prior to this and always had a mildew smell in it. I follow the directions and use Affresh in it whenever it tells me to and I have had no problems with an odor. Also, my washer is in the kitchen and it is very quite.
