What Customers Are Saying
The washing machine has generally positive reviews, with customers praising its cleaning performance, energy efficiency, and quiet operation. The large capacity is noted as a benefit, allowing users to do fewer, larger loads. However, some customers have experienced issues such as problems with the door seal, unbalanced loads, and long cycle times. Overall, the product seems to be a high-quality option, but users should be prepared for potential maintenance or repair costs.

Would Not RecommendJust out of warranty, of course, the drum broke on this washer. The repairman said that this problem is very common and would cost about $650 to repair and the parts are back ordered because it so many of these machines are breaking. He recommended that we just buy a new washer. It is unbelievable that they are still selling these machines when they know that the design is faulty. Any sort of money saving or environmentally friendly values are bunk when the machine ends up in a landfill after on...
$610 in repairs in less than 6 months
Would Not RecommendThis is my second washer in 20 years. My first was a simple, no frills top loader that lasted 20 years without a single repair (it was still working when I replaced it - just wanted to upgrade to a fancier machine). I purchased the Duet washer and dryer because of its capacity and features but I am regretting the purchase. After only 6 months I received an error code, the door would not unlock and the washer would not do anything. I HAD to call for service. The repair man said that the motor, co...
Broke after one year. Wrecks clothes.
Would Not RecommendAbout 13 months after I bought it (i.e. just outside of the warranty) the rubber door seal ripped and the maching wrecked a bunch of my clothes. Other online reviews suggest Whirlpool knows there is a design flaw as numerous other customers have had this problem. So, my washer not only cost the price I paid for it, but about $200 worth of clothing as well. I expected better from Whirlpool and paying this much for the washer. Very disappointed.
Great Replacement for an older model.
Would RecommendThis machine replaced a 10-year-old model of the same make, for roughly the same price. The difference over 10 years is astounding. Considerably quieter than previous model and extracts water much more efficiently and thouroughly. There are 8 people on our condo association, so it needs to work right the first time, which it did. The features can be overwhelming at first, but you get used to it. First thing we did was turn off the sound effects - a bit overdone. The manual needs some work. Flash...

Garbage! Don't waste your money!
Would Not RecommendAfter only 2.5 years our super fancy washer needs over $ 400.00 in repairs. Save your money and stay away from Whirlpool products! Out of 5 brand new appliances we purchaced, three have had major problems.
first HE washer
Would RecommendI have had none of the problems others have had. I must admit that there is a learning curve as I have never had a HE front loader. Quiet. Holds king sheet set and king blanket (not together). Has all the features I could want. I have my washer and dryer stacked and there is no visible vibration. I have an elderly dog that sometimes doesn't make it to the door. Washed the towel I wiped up dog urine using HE liquid detergent and fabric softner. No odor left on towel. I think the biggest thing is ...

Should have read the reveiws
Would Not RecommendI bought my whirlpool washer at Lowes they made me a great deal and delivered on time ,they set it up showed me how to use it . I thought this purchase was a great deal until i started using it . The whirlpool washer started making a noise in the tub right after we bought it and finally it sounds like the tub came apart on it .I called Lowes and they had a service man set up for me i appriciate Lowes effort but washing machine appears to be very very very poor quality.
Quiet, Pretty and Efficient, but does not actually get cloth
Would Not RecommendWe had a Duet washer bought in 2002 we liked it and have always used HE soap, but recently it was not getting clothes clean, so we bought new Duet washer. We love the design and the jingle it plays when finished and the light up dial, and the pedalstal drawer and easy to unload , but we noticed that the clothes came out smelly and dingy or smelled of soap and the length of time for one wash is well over one hour.We tried extra rinse, we tried less soap, there are 4 pages of troubleshooting pages...

Worked for a few months
Would Not RecommendI bought this on in July. It seemed to be working ok for a couple of months though was always very loud. It gradually began banging so loud in spin cycle to the point where it was unbearable. I called Whirlpool and they set me up up with a repairman. So I loaded it up myself and drove it 4 hours to the repair place. Living in a rural area we accept certain inconviences in life. It has now been over 3 month and the repair place says they are still waiting for parts that are hard to find. I have h...
Leaves Clothes Wet
Would Not RecommendI liked this washer very much when I first got it. Then I had a few times that the cycle seemed to get "stuck" and not complete. The clothes would stay wet and just sit there. According to the manual this happens when the load becomes unbalanced. It has happened anytime I've used the gentle or hand wash cycles. I have tried very hard to make loads more balanced by washing the same types of clothes together, etc. but this is more work than I should have to do and I continue to have the problem. I...

Whirlpool/Kenmore
Would RecommendI have the Kenmore "sister" to this machine. Purchased it over 11 years ago, and it just now malfunctioned. That's why I'm here, looking for a new machine. I have a large family with six children so I do A LOT of laundry, a minimum of three loads a day, some days more (that's over 12,000 loads). My machine has been wonderful, has always cleaned well, and I would not hesitate to purchase another. I kept the door open when not in use and ran a sanitize cycle with a cleaner about once a month. I'm ...

7 year Duet Owner Here!
Would RecommendI find that most of the reviews are from people who have not had their machine very long, so I thought I would come on to leave a review of my Duet. I took delivery of it April of 2005. I'm the ONLY one in the house that does the laundry averaging about six loads per week. I take care of everything and have used HE powder from day one (not liquid) and I use distilled white vinegar in the rinse dispenser diluted with a little fabric softener. I also have moderately hard water city water in my are...
Do not buy whirlpool products!
Would Not RecommendThis washer was wonderful, until it broke down and the repairman gave me an estimate of $967 to replace the 3 boards. Obviously I can purchase a new washer for about the same amount and it will not be a whirlpool! I highly recomend buying extended warranties if you do purchase a whirlpool washer, it will break down! Unfortunately I did not get the extended warranty and I have learned my lesson the hard way.
Great Washer
Would RecommendWe bought this front load Whirlpool to replace a 14 year old Kenmore top load washer. While watching the first load for a couple of minutes, the first thing that I noticed is that it does not use very much water at all. After the load was finished, the clothes were much dryer than I was used to. I guess it's do to the spin cycle spinning at 1400 rmp's. All of the clothes smelled and looked clean better than expected. Drying time was reduced by at least 20 minutes. We did a lot of reasearch befor...
Remarkably good washing machine
Would RecommendWe replaced our 10+ year old top loader with this make and model washing machine and matching dryer. We've had it for about eight months; we do, maybe, four or five loads a week. We're thoroughly satisfied and haven't experienced a single problem. There's been no funky odor, no leaks, no glitches. It really is light years ahead of the old style machines. The engineering is exceptionally sophisticated: it measures just the right amount of water to saturate (but not flood) the clothes, it carefull...
It is a train wreck
Would Not RecommendWhirlpool front loading washers are a nightmare. I had 2 major breakdowns and no real help from Whirlpool. Their best offer..."good for 24 hours"...was for me to pay $289 to have the washer fixed and a 1 year warrenty added. I'll never get another Whirlpool product after the experience with this one and the lack of support from Whirlpool!!!!!
Great machine!
Would RecommendWe bought this machine as a replacement for another frond loader that we had for about 5 or 6 years. I hated the last one because it would never stay level and would move all around the laundry room during the spin cycle. In the end that is what caused the whole inside to fall down which cost too much to repair. We've had this machine for about a year now and I haven't had any problems with it at all. I read all of the reviews from every store and was a little nervous about purchasing it but a l...
I Love My Washer
Would RecommendI have had this washer for over a year now and I love it. I owned a front loader prior to this and always had a mildew smell in it. I follow the directions and use Affresh in it whenever it tells me to and I have had no problems with an odor. Also, my washer is in the kitchen and it is very quite.
