The pro series 46 is perfect for 4 people. Keep level at 5, any more, too salty. Easy to program, remember you will need a clear hose about 12 inches with clamps for top of tank, check diameter, and remember to use Teflon for threads there:) follow tutorial video on website, the next day, you will experience exactly what it says.

I got this model around September 2025, it never work from day 1, I went thru countless diagnostic routine with Whirlpool technical support, wasted a lot time to fix the problem. I used to have a Kinetico water softener that lasted 10 years+ without any maintenance, I got a built-in drain wall port, which I use to hook to the Kinetico, and of course later I use the same port with the newly purchase Whirlpool water softener. Badly designed bypass valve

I would really like to know who designed and tested the bypass valve on this unit. After installing the unit with the bypass valve, my unit immediately leaked from the bypass valve pressure fittings. They are absolute trash. Why can't we just have threaded fittings?? I haven't even been able to test the unit because I am now building a custom three-valve bypass solution. Hopefully the unit itself performs better than the bypass valve design.

Horrible Delivery

Lowe's used FedEx to deliver the package and it came damaged, the driver slid it off of her truck, landing on the head where all the electronics live. She then proceeded to flip it to the ground on its side, with no care. I called Lowe's to help me resolve it and they said no to deal with FedEx, I spent 5 months fighting with FedEx to no avail, telling me only Lowe's can file a claim.
