What Customers Are Saying
The soldering iron has mixed reviews. Many found it affordable and reliable for general electronics work, with the built-in LED light being a helpful feature. However, some customers were disappointed, reporting the iron did not get hot enough, had a short lifespan, and lacked quality compared to expectations. The lack of a stand was also noted as a downside. The reviews suggest the iron may work well for basic needs but has limitations and may not be suitable for more demanding applications.

Extremely weak, and frustrating
Would Not RecommendIf you are going to be soldering anything bigger than a circuit board, do not frustrate yourself with this. $25 isn’t expensive, but not cheap either and of all the cheap soldering irons I’ve owned this is by far the worst. Anything with even a bit of thermal mass, such as a stranded copper wire, you cannot solder. It’s more like a paint brush because it doesn’t get hot enough to allow the solder to flow and penetrate anything. It gets cold immediately and stuck to whatever you’re soldering. It ...
No heat recovery
Would Not RecommendTouch solder to iron, small ball forms; then nothing for a few seconds. Couldn't even tin 1/8th" 18 gage. Maybe the one I got was defective.
Nice soldering iron
Would Not RecommendThe soldering iron, works well, for my needs, HOWEVER...The LED light does NOT illuminate ANYTHING, and it's a nice idea, but it's a ZERO !

Out With The Old
Would RecommendTried to use my old iron that has been in an storage box for more years than I would like to admit. The tried-and-tested didn't do the job. Not sure if it was the iron or the solder but I threw both away and got this one. I didn't feel the LED light would be a great benefit but with my old eyes it is a game changer. Much more precise and accurate with the light and with the fine point. Excellent product.

Easy to use.
Would RecommendI really liked this product and it did the job I needed it to do, I just wish it came with a stand of some sort.

Good product. Lights are helpful.
Would Recommendnice soldering iron, the lights are helpful in most situations. the iron heats quickly and stays hot. comes with three different tips, which is nice and a small peice of solder. the stand it comes with is basically worthless though.
Came with unusable tip
Would Not RecommendBought this iron for a soldering project I needed to do for the aviation maintenance program I'm in. I am not new to soldering. However, when I first plugged this iron in with the finest tip, the tip got extremely discolored and flaked off like a snake skin. Would not hold solder at all. Ended up having to do the entire project with one of the fatter tips which was far more difficult with the small circuit board I was soldering on. Lowes didn't even have any replacement tips when I looked. Not i...
Weller, known brand in soldering - stand missing
Would RecommendWeller is a known brand in soldering iron and this one is no different. It is a safe, good quality and ergonomically safe soldering iron. The 360 degree lights is super helpful in soldering and adds penetrating lights to the micro connections. I would have though liked an addition of a soldering iron stand or some clips in the package to hold the chips or things that need to be soldered. That would avoid another expense on the unit but overall the item is reliable and safe to use.
A must buy
Would RecommendI am pleased with this Weller iron. I have their wood burning set as well. I think I've probably always used Weller's when shopping for these types of tools, so I trust their name. It's comfortable in the hand, lightweight and stows easily in the tool box. The LED light is a huge gold star! What a difference it makes when working. I wear glasses when working close up on things, so a headlight is kind of wonky. The light is a perfect solution. I definitely recommend.
