Great product, but the dispensing machine

This is a great product, but the machines that you rent to disperse the insolation is almost as messy as the insulation itself. and it covers more than what the package states. We bought 60 and only used 45 to finish the entire house including the garage

pro tip use a smart outlet plug for the blower so you can control from your phone without trying to yell to the person filing the machine.

Exactly what I was looking for

Machine did not work

We bought 20 bags at the Saratoga Springs, got the machine. Loaded everything in the trailer, brought it home, Unloaded everything, set up the machine, it did not work (only the blower worked). Called other near by Lowes to see if they had one that worked, they advised it was not possible for them to test the machine (I am not sure if this is accurate or they are just lazy). Long story short, we ended up buying AttiCat from Owens Corning. Their machine did work.

Read the Bag

R60=11.6sf per bag according to the side of the bag (I misread this myself). Read your local code at the state site to know what you need. In northern VA, it is R49 vented attic and R60 unvented. 86 bags for R60 1000sf house according to the bag.

The listing says "R60", then adds "48.7sf coverage per bag". At 48.7sf, it will fall between R13 & R19 (closer @ R17 as the bag lists 44.2sf at R19). R60=17.3sf or 86 bags for a 1000sf home. As this product can be scaled to meet the need, it is handy but it is messy & slightly cheaper depending...

Make your own blower

I wanted to install this on my own time and didn't want the hassel of looking for a available blower so i made my own. Find a cheap leaf blower/mulcher one that is make to suck up leaves, mulches and dumps into a bag. Got mine for $55 (HyperTough MDLHT21-401-002-05 , add on a 2 1/2" dust hose and you are set. Broke up the insulation in a trash bin and used a concrete mixer blade to break it up. I place a sheet over the bin when mixing to keep the dust down, still makes a mess but I am happy ...

I ended up letting the employee count and I did the loading. Made a big mistake and lost $30 because they didn't count right and shorted me. as for the product, I am not sure yet how it fares because it is not installed yet. just saying, I wish I was more vigilant because I lost money here.

No Itching

Percent size for handling. The price per bag a 1/3 the price of fiberglass. With buying 20+ bags I got the machine to blow it free for the day just had to leave a deposit. My wife fed the machine and ran the hose in the attic to the proper depth.
