Not a good experience

The content is full of large pieces of plastic bags, band-aids, sanitary napkins, etc. Possibly due to the blower from Lowes, but I could only blow 25 bags in 8 hours with 2 people loading the hopper. This is after breaking it up in a container before loading. I would avoid this product unless you have 2 full days and 2-3 helpers. I've blown other types of insulation and never had this problem.

East install with the machine. Lots of dust but it does the job. Have to put it thick according to the R value you want.

A Do-It-Yourself-Breeze!

Exceptional quality, non toxic, easy to apply, bought 30 bags and the blower was free for 24 hours. My son and I worked together and we went thru the 30 bags in roughly 2 hours. You will sure need goggles and a mask, but this product is non-toxic and is easy to distribute. A do-it-yourself-breeze!

Bags are only 25 lbs each so easy to move.

When you buy at least twenty bags of the blow-in insulation you get free rental for the machine to blow it in with. The rental is only good for the day but it goes so fast that it should be sufficient for most jobs. The machine is a 110 v so a common receptacle works fine. The insulation is a cellulose based so it is quite dusty when blowing it in. Be sure to wear breathing filters, eye protection and we used the disposable painters coveralls. Full of plastic waste and chemical odor

I bought this insulation and some from Menards and the Sanctuary Greenfibe R 60 was full of plastic and has a chemical odor to it, the comparable insulation from Menard's was cleaner, and no plastic waste mixed in with it and only had an odor of paper.

Notes on DIY attic insulation

Product was packaged so that each bundle was not heavy. Ordered 20 (ended up getting 15 more bags) and got the use of the blower free for 24 hours (make sure you use it as it's a Godsend). Several of the bags had some torn areas. Used it to do attic in garage of our 4 year old new home. Not summer yet but inside garage temperatures are down a little over 10 degrees. Good insulation

I wanted cellulose insulation because it is both effective insulation and it sequesters a lot of carbon. With the blowing machine it was straightforward to install.

I cannot really say at this time

It's too early to tell, how effective it is
