Straight shaft weedeater
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This weedeater was easy to assemble and instructions were easy to follow. Being a shorter person some weed eaters are heavy and hard to handle. I had very minimal difficulty with this. I had no troubles starting it and it felt comfortable to hold. I'm very pleased with this product. It works very well!

Great Line Trimmer So Far
Would RecommendThis line trimmer is replacing a 4 stroke Ryobi that did not last I suspect from poor lubricant circulation as you use the trimmer at odd angles. The piston rings blew out. I decided to go back to a 2 stroke and so far I think this Troy Bilt is a work horse. My only gripe is that it did not come with a shoulder strap. You just have to hold its weight on your own. Adding a strap would probably allow me to give it 5 stars.

Great power, great value
Would RecommendI purchased this timmer on sale for $149.99. The power of the trimmer makes use a breeze. The trimmer head holds twice the line of my previous Craftsman. The balance of the handle design is great, and the long shaft design saves my back. Great all the way around!

Trimmer
Good trimmer. The standard 0.095 trim is much better than the trim that comes with initial purchase.

New Troy Toy
Would RecommendAfter 6 years of heavy use, my old Troy Bilt trimmer finally kicked the bucket. I purchased this new TroyBilt 2 cycle after looking at other reviews, and have been very satisfied so far. The online purchase process and in-store pick up was easy and seamless. Staff was courteous, and the trimmer is much simpler to start compared to earlier models.

No luck
Would Not RecommendFigured it was a decent mid-range weed eater so I decided to give it a try. Tried it the first day and within 20 minutes of use, the head fell apart. Returned it an hour later. Could have been just a bad one in the batch, but I decided to go with my faithful craftsman instead. Been good since.

Troy-Built XP 27 2 Cycle 18” Trimmer Plus
Would RecommendLight Weight, Lighter than old 4 Cycle. Easy Start and well balanced!
Does the job - very hard starting
Once I managed to get this beast started it ran well and worked fine. The bump string feeder works well and it doesn't use excessive string. Bad starting which is often the case with 2 cycles. Yes I used 40:1 premix fuel and I did exactly what the manual stated. I almost took it back for a refund. Solution: I removed the air filter and squirted starter fluid (WD 40) into the venturi, the engine started on the 2nd pull. After this it ran just fine until the tank ran dry then after refueling it...
This trimmer is great
Would RecommendStarted first pull, def do not waste ur money on an electric started for a 2 cycle they are only needed for 4 cycle junk trimmers. This is a solid brand. I actually contacted customer support as opposed to bringing it back to lowes and then getting a diff one which lowes would gladly do, they sent me the part n i did not wait on the phone at all which shows this company has better support than competitors for sure. Anyway 2 screws were missing nothing serious so instead of bashing figured i woul...
I’m done with troy bilt. Don’t buy this!!!
Would Not RecommendI bought this xp trimmer thinking it would be superior to the regular troy bilt. My last troy bilt lasted a whopping 1.5 seasons.... it would only start after 50-60 pulls, nearly throwing my shoulder out in the process. This xp model was even less impressive. After assembly, it started on its first run after 8 pulls. I was intially impressed until the next day when it wouldn’t start at all, despite numerous attempts. I was using the trufuel 40:1 bought from Lowes. When is Lowes going to start re...
Trimmer that works!
Would RecommendThe trimmer is not too heavy. For a two-cycle engine, it is not very loud. It has great power. I hope it will last a few years. I have a large amount of trimming and weed eating every week. This one seems has started out as a good investment. I like the way it loads string and the four plastic blades has worked very well, however, they do wear down verily fast. I like the ability to change attachments and will probably add more attachments. So far -- very good!!!
