Amazing piece! Stained and used it as a countertop. We used the minwax prestain conditioner, minwax special walnut stain and topped it with waterlox satin finish.

Very pleased with Butcher Block

We decided to add an island in our kitchen and this was our first go with butcher block and we are pleased. The price was really good so I thought we might not get a good quality top, especially since we had to order it because the store does not stock them, but that was not the case. It arrived in 3 days (store pickup) and in good condition. There was no doubt about which side was top because one side was rougher than the other. Kitchen Island

Purchased this butcher block to use for my kitchen island.

Very solid countertop

Bought this to use as a sewing table top. Took stain well so it matched the cabinets. Had to cut down the width and it sawed nicely. Only downside is the weight. It is very heavy and takes two people to handle.

Nice product overall. I take off one star because there were a few chips out of the block and a couple of the darker, hard spots had chunks missing. Overall though, after staining and sealing it looked good

We're pre kitchen makeover, but needed something to improve functional use while we save, and this worked perfectly for us! It provided a larger working, meal prep island while also providing us a place to have people eat in & keep the cook company at a breakfast bar.

Highly disappointing

As a remodel contractor, I use a good amount of butcher block. These from lowes are not cheap, but much worse than others I've used. The tops were wavy on them all, several were warped, out of the 5 I bought, 3 were warped, and two I had to glue up since they were splitting apart. If I hadn't ripped them down to fit by the time I saw that, I would have returned them all and went elsewhere. The cheapness of the construction was evident throughout. DO NOT BUY!

Bought this for the purpose of making a desktop. Worked perfectly (except I had trouble finding someone to cut it down to size). The saw they have at the store is not really "set up" (as I was told) to give this a good quality cut. So if you want to cut it to a specific size, either have your own saw or know someone! On the piece I bought, at least, one of the sides is more of the knotty look, while the opposite side is just a smooth, consistent wood grain. Probably want to use that side if you...
