everything we expected

Delivery to local store was fast and pick up was easy and prompt. They had it wheeled out front and loaded in my truck in about 5 minutes. The butcher block looks great on top of the cabinets we ordered for our island in the kitchen. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Shipping to Store is a problem

It took me three times getting shipped to store, because the product was coming in damaged. Took me about a month overall, one would come in each week. I love the product!

I bought the butcher block to use as a desk top. I stained it and put polyurethane on it to protect it. I am very pleased with the results and my purchase

6ft Butcher Block

This was the perfect thing for my kitchen island countertop. I used Minwax pre-stain wood conditioner, Minwax dark walnut stain, then Minwax fast drying polyurethane and it looks great. Just follow all directions on the cans of each thing and you're good to go. Sanding it is a must but it's easy to do as well.

Better Than Expected

This was my first experience purchasing/using a butcher block. We needed a large table/bar for our garage and this piece does the job beautifully. We wanted to keep the wood looking natural so applied mineral oil and it looks great. Heavy, solid and good looking!

Satisfied overall with the butcher block. But, one, it’s so stinkin’ heavy! Beautiful counter! We didn’t know though that only one side is “finished”, in a sense. One side was beautiful and the other had a lit of knots in it, which wouldn’t be a bad thing. But we ordered online for pickup at the store. Excellent product for the price. Important to realize that one side is more perfect than the other and that you get the side up that you prefer.

Junk

Sanded from 150 down to 220, finished with a 50/50 tung oil/citrus solvent. Ambient temp was 65. Block cupped, All of the end joints swelled and feathered. I had to let the oil cure for a week, then I soaked the block with mineral spirits to evaporate the remaining oils. Then I sanded from 100 down to 320. The amount of time and money I put into this countertop I could’ve sawn, glued, clamped and planed my own birch with a better quality adhesive that wouldn’t let the finish oil into the endgra...

Great Butcherblock

Wonderful Butcher Block. We stained it to match the kitchen and it came out great. Blocks were a lot wider than most that we have seen and very satisfied with this countertop. Thanks Lowe's.

Great quality!

We were given a $2500 quote to install Butcher block counter tops in our laundry room ... so we decided to do it ourselves. The wood was sealed up nicely, great quality, and after sanding and poly, it looks beautiful!! The only downfall- the 6 ft block was very heavy! So make sure you install it with plenty of support.

Used in Laundry Room

I used this butcher block as a folding table above my washer and dryer. There were no defects on the butcher block when I picked it up, and it was easy enough to cut to fit with standard power tools. I stained the birch and had no issues, but I did use a prestain as recommended by the manufacturer. It is working well so far.

This counter works very nice on my kitchen island. The first one I bought had a manufacturers flaw, which can happen, and that I did not see until I had installed the top, I had to return it but luckily it comes with a warranty. When I brought it back to the store, everyone at Lowe's was so kind and apologized numerous times for my inconvenience. Why the tape?

Good quality, nice finish. Then when you open the package the info sheet and cardboard around the edges are taped to the butcher block with cheap packing tape, on both sides. I had to clean all the glue off with paint thinner. For the price of this, they should act like they care.

Bought to use for the top of a farmhouse table. Turned out beautiful!
