What Customers Are Saying

The product is a simple and effective mouse trap that has received mixed reviews. Many customers report it successfully catching mice, praising its ease of use. However, some have experienced issues with the trap's spring strength and bait being taken without triggering the trap. Has held up great

Would Recommend

These are cheap enough that there is no guilt in tossing the whole trap and mouse, but we have had such good luck with this brand that we have been reusing them for several weeks just so we don't have to use the other brand we had purchased. They are an affordable, quick, and humane way to deal with a mouse problem.

Disappointing

Would Not Recommend

I gave Tomcat a shot but they don’t compare to Victor. Spring is not strong enough. Found traps tripped and empty. Never actually caught a mouse. Victor will not disappoint.

Bad traps

Would Not Recommend

We bought 4 mouse traps, 1st one we set up and it went off and the mouse had walked over it setting it off and it broke, 2nd and 3rd the mouse ran over the trap setting it off but didn't catch the mouth and then we reset them and they walked over it and broke both of the 2nd and 3rd traps, now we have 1 left which the mouse literally set it off and it flew in the air landing 2 feet from where we put it down. Not to mention it never caught a mouse. Can you give me a recommendation on where I can ...

Poor Design

Would Not Recommend

I have a better time with the 2 packs of wooden traps from the Dollar Tree. These Tomcat traps will constantly snap closed and I have to fiddle with them a bunch before I can get one set and then hope with all my hope that it won't set off before I set it down. So, you'd think this trap would be really sensitive at the first brush of a mouse but nope. I have watched mice run over these traps without setting them off. I've found traps not set off with the bait licked clean off the trigger. I wil...

Good Luck trying to set the traps!

Would Not Recommend

Bought these because they were cheaper than the ones I normally use and boy did I make a mistake! Good luck trying to set the traps because you can't! Pretty dumb system you've developed for setting, it's not like setting a normal trap, it's a joke! NEVER AGAIN!

Simple - Set in a paper bag for no-touch disposal

Would Recommend

It’s a little tricky to get the pin set, but once you figure it out they work great. A HUGE suggestion they should publish: if you don’t like this kind of trap because you see and have to touch the dead mouse, bait and set and then slide it into a small paper bag (lunch/fast food size) with the baited end pointing out. I’ve had 100% success with this, and a quick glance to confirm the catch and the whole bag goes straight to the trash.

Junk

Would Not Recommend

I have been using wood trap and peanut butter for years. These traps spring while loading, the staple holding the bait trap comes out of the base and the lever for tripping is to short. Worst traps I have ever seen. Copy to Menards

Just takes some patience.

Would Recommend

I've seen some of the negative reviews regarding this product and I was about to write and agree but decided to give setting them one last try. All it turned out to take was just being careful and patient. It is supposed to be easily sprung otherwise it's kind of useless.

Not Worth the Time or Money

This trap is an absolute pain to set. The tripping mechanism does not work well, and it tends to slip and cause false triggers. Don't waste your time with this particular trap.

simply doesn't work

Would Not Recommend

Note, again, all of the 1 star reviews. There's a good reason for that. I bought a pack of 2. One of the traps broke while setting it! There are tiny little metal hooks that pin the trap to the wooden part of the trap that broke off. I set the other one and again, like the plastic mouse/ rat trap that Tomcat sells, the bait was gone, the trap didn't trigger. Dont waste your money or time on these. Go with a sturdy, good old fashioned Victor trap.

Spring too weak.

Would Not Recommend

Trap is nicely constructed and finished, but the spring is too weak. I have separately trapped two mice now with this trap but neither mouse was killed. Sadly, both had been trapped squarely by the neck and had to be finished off with a blow to the head. I would not recommend this trap.

Works great as always.

Would Recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have used the classic mouse trap for decades and they work well. One must be careful when using these traps but they are not to difficult even for the first time user. Follow simple instructions, bait set and put in position.

One is as low as I could go

Would Not Recommend

Pure and simple, these wooden traps are garbage. I’m 69 years old and have been setting traps my whole life. These traps are nearly impossible to set. I’m taking them back where I bought them and getting my money back. I would not recommend this product at all. There are others brands that actually are easy to set. You should be ashamed to charge money for these.

Malfunctioning Mouse Traps

Would Not Recommend

Cheaply made mouse traps which fall apart after a single use. The clip-on, plastic bait plate disconnects from the retaining staple with the slightest touch -- human or vermin. The staple also pull out from the wooden foundation, making the trap useless. More disappointing is that these flimsy mouse traps are the only brand carried by Lowes.
