What Customers Are Saying
The product is a simple and effective mouse trap that has received mixed reviews. Many customers report it successfully catching mice, praising its ease of use. However, some have experienced issues with the trap's spring strength and bait being taken without triggering the trap. Overall, it seems to be a reliable and affordable option for dealing with mouse problems when used correctly, though it may not be perfect.

Would Not RecommendThese traps don't work. Neither do any of the Tom Cat products. Ten minutes ago, I watched a mouse stand on the yellow part of the trap and eat the bait and leave same thing happens every night. Don't waste your money find another brand.

Excellent
Would RecommendOnce you learn how to set the trap, it's the best. Works every time, which isn't true for some of the other types of mousetraps. It took me a while to see the easiest way to set the trap -- you have to tilt the orange bait holder up high enough so the thin metal "bar" will fit under it and stay there. If you do this, you won't have the problem of the trap snapping back down. We have a mouse come in a few times a year, and this product takes care of it immediately. I like the fact that the mouse ...

wooden mouse traps
Would Not RecommendFed up with spending money on a product that doesn't work. All four of the traps would not hold in the set position (And that's a painful revelation)! Obviously the subtle balance of the set position has been lost through mass production and no one is product testing!

Tried and true
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Basic and effective. Easy set up and very effective but watch your fingers. Although not for the faint of heart these are what I prefer over all others. A little peanut butter and your ready to go for any mouse.

Best trap on the market, quick death for mouse
Would RecommendI LOVE this trap! It is re-usable and extremely effective. I bait the trap and typically get the mouse within 1 or 2 days. THESE ARE THE BEST MANUAL TRAPS on the market. I have used other wooden mouse traps and they are terrible. Tomcat uses sturdy wood for their base and the metal is securely installed into the wood. I have had super success with these traps. The traps are reusable also. I remove the mouse from the trap, place it in our nearby woods and it is gratefully consumed by other carniv...

My best friend during mouse “season”
Every year, when the first cold NH evenings come around in late Fall, the beginning of mouse season occurs. At this time the little creatures decide that a warm house beats the woods and fields they were perfectly content with all summer, and migrate en masse. The season lasts about two to three months until Winter’s hard freezes limits their mobility. Over the years, after trying numerous types of traps to hold back the hordes, I’ve come to rely on the dependability of the Tomcat wooden mo...

Did the trick
Would RecommendStraight to the point review. Set traps with a dab of peanut butter and within an hour a mouse was caught on day 1. On day two the result was even faster. Killed them instantly no mess.

Changed for the worse
Would Not RecommendI have been using these traps for years and they always worked great. Maybe a little tricky to set but I was always confident they would do the job. I have had 2 mice in the past few months and between the two of them ended up having to eventually set 10 traps before I found two that worked. The previous 8 had the bait eaten off them without being triggered. They used to be hair-trigger but now they are useless. I know there is a money back guarantee but who saves receipts for mouse traps bo...

Best wood mouse trap out there
These traps are the best wood traps I've found, the coating on the wood lets them live longer in rough places... I despise mice and want to put as little effort into getting rid of them as possible so I screw a bunch of traps alternating to a piece of plywood and make an allthread handle so I don't have to bend over to pick it up. I think they're easier to set on a board as well... Unfortunately these traps are hard to find now for some reason?

Broke at Placement
Would Not RecommendI baited the trap with peanut butter I set it down and snapped and broke before I mouse ever had a chance to get there. Didn't have that problem with the old-fashioned kind. Maybe it was just defective and they will send me some replacements

Poor quality
Would Not RecommendI bought these traps because I have always had a good experience with Tomcat products. I set the traps and they kept being set off with nothing in them. After using my finger as the "mouse" I found that the U clips that hold down the spring /hammer (I guess that's what you might call it) slide right out of the trap. Henceforth letting the mouse get away. To say the least I am very disappointed and my mice are well fed.

Sore fingers
Would Not RecommendI got 4 of these traps. Maybe I got a bad batch, but they are almost impossible to set. The plastic piece that should catch the pin to retain the trap doesn’t hold it hardly at all. After snapping my fingers six or seven times I finally got two traps set. One trap caught a mouse, and one trap kept releasing itself. I ended up having to throw 3 of the 4 away because they would not function.

Very touchy and difficult to set.
Would Not RecommendBought 4 of these and they are just to hard to set. They usually go off by themselves while loading or placing them down. Very poor design ! The bait paddle catch is too smooth to hold the lockdown bar in place .

Almost Impossible to Set
Would Not RecommendThe metal bar against slick plastic doesn't have enough friction to hold the spring loaded trap. I would like to see a representative of the company set the trap in a live feed.

Fantastic. Multiple kills with same bait
Would RecommendI live in a rural area of my county. A big box Mart store used to carry these but not now. I trap around 200, yes that many with only two of these. One in my pole barn and one next to my trailer skirting. The best part of these is that they hold a sunflower seed firmly when placed under the small tab on top. Mice have to work at trying to get the seed and set the trap multiple times without getting the seed. These are the best inexpensive mouse traps without question.
