Only works on larger mice

Larger Mice can be caught with this trap They have enough weight to rock the trap so the door swings shut and latches. Make sure to check the tabs so the door will latch shut and stay that way or it will not work. Smaller mice can clean the bait out and not trip the door shut. They are just too light. It the trap were 1 - 2 inches longer it might work better with smaller mice

Mouse Live Mouse Trap

I have successfully used this item before. Unfortunately this time the mouse got out. Not sure how though.

Safe and effective!

Purchased 2 and have already caught 3 mice!! They're tunneling thru our rock yard to our patio and don't want them inside this winter. Surprised that there were negative ratings - product works great!!

60% of the time, it works every time

2 stars because I have caught some mice with it. However, more often than not, I find the trap tripped with the peanut butter bait licked clean, but no mouse inside. While I don't want to kill the mice, the old fashioned wood snap traps are much more effective. I'm glad I bought 2 since they only work less than half the time, but I would recommend skipping this no-kill trap and look for something better.

I had hopes

I want a live catch solution, but after a week of nightly raids and several of these baited and placed not one of them has caught anything. They've chewed the back end out of one and just trigger the latches nightly on the others. The tall garbage can with peanut butter trap we set up is out performing this leaps and bounds. Huge and costly disappointment.

6 mice in 6hrs

Hi all, brand new homeowner. Please buy these. I was skeptical after reading some reviews. I bought 5 units, and only opened 2. They both caught mice within two hours. So I released the mice, and opened/repositioned all of the traps. I used a little peanut butter in the back and it works great. The original home owner had a hoarding problem, hence the mice. Only one time a mouse escaped through the front. But, it was because the trap was on uneven concrete, not allowing the front door to swing ...

Please Check Often

My cat chased a small mouse in the house so I got these traps. They do work but unfortunately I didn’t check one that had been tripped. Poor little mouse was dead inside. My advice is if you use them make sure you check them often. I had wanted to save the little guy and would have had I looked more closely at the out of the way trap. Don’t make my upsetting mistake.

Mouse feeding station

NIght after night mouse just helped himself to peanut butter in two traps. In and out no problem. Not worth even trying. Only bought because it was the only live trap Lowes had. Ive had other live traps in tge past that worked.

Crappy trap for smart mice.

If you havd smart field mice, this trap will not work. Also, will not work for bigger mice. Horrible design.

Mice are too smart

I used peanut butter in this trap, and three times Stewart Little has helped himself to the peanut butter without managing to get trapped inside.

Worked well for my situation.

A little duct tape on back door solved reviewer reported issue of escape. Mouse caught within 24 hrs of setting this up, alive and well.

Worked on the 1st Night

We bought 5 yesterday, and set them out around 11am, using JIF Creamy Peanut Butter as the bait. By midnight, 2 traps were triggered. By morning we had a third. By the 9 this morning when we went to release them, one had been able to start chewing the ring around where you place the bait, but the trap can still be reused. Great product! Simple, effective and humane.

Worked Like a Charm

We caught and released a small field mouse the first night. The device was easy to bait and set. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a non-kill method.

NOT a live trap, but death trap

These things are flat out horrible and as humane as a glue trap. I purchased 2 to capture domesticated mice that had escaped their cage. I set them at night and checked about 10 hours later to find that both had been tripped. 1 of the mice was dead and the other died very shortly after. Both were soaked, I'm not sure if by condensation from poor ventilation in the trap and/or their urine. I set them again and made sure to check every couple hours, and caught another, who was also soaked but cons...

It works!

CAught a mouse the 1st day I put it out. Just a little peanut butter at the end. It works great!

Not a better mouse trap

No beaten path to Tom Cat for this one. Deer mouse was able to eat the peanut butter bait twice and escape.

Work well, but what to do with the mouse?

We had originally planned to release any mice that we caught far away from the house, but managed to catch a mouse the very first night - during a snowstorm. Thrilled that the trap worked, but we didn't plan ahead very well.

Mouse chewed through

I caught a mouse in one of these traps during the night and by morning it had chewed through the back end and escaped. Poor design for a mouse trap if the mouse can chew through it.

Pass this by.

Wanted a catch and release trap but this one does not stay set. Checked it four times yesterday because it had snapped and nothing in it. Did catch one earlier in the week, and it wasn't easy to keep the mouse in while I went to release. Lowes does not appear to carry the type I used before where you can see into the trap without handling and it never set itself off.

No luck yet

We haven’t been able to catch the mouse yet but, having accidentally set it off a few times myself, I know this thing is sensitive and would quickly close if the little rodent went in there.
