What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the trap's effectiveness at capturing mice alive, with many reporting catches of three to seven mice within days using peanut butter bait. The humane design strongly appeals to those opposed to lethal methods. However, significant drawbacks emerge: reviewers report false triggers with no mouse inside, mice escaping after partial activation, and bait theft without capture. Success depends heavily on proper placement and using minimal bait. While many find it effective, design flaws and inconsistent performance frustrate others, creating a divided customer base.

Would Not RecommendBought these, set them up, caught a mouse quickly, but he also figured out quickly how to go in and out of trap at will. So I didn’t really “catch” him so I could release him. Going for good old fashioned mouse traps today.
Highly Recommend!
Would RecommendThis live catch mouse trap is amazing! The design is super simple, they’ve literally designed a better mousetrap! We caught several mice in two days, and were able to release them safely. It’s hard to explain how it works, but it’s like a child’s teeter totter, where the mouse goes in to get the bait, and when it gets to other side gravity makes it go down which closes the entry door. Great product, thanks Tomcat for solving our mouse problem humanely.
Worked but the mouse escaped
Would Not RecommendI set the trap with peanut butter at 11 o'clock at night. Checked the trap at 7:30 the next morning and the mouse had chewed its way free. Unless you check the trap every few hours, it won't contain a mouse.

Nothing yet
Would Not RecommendI set this trap along the baseboard where I have seen mice, but they haven't gone near it.
We are sorry to hear about your experience with the Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap. We recommend placing the trap where rodents travel, usually a 10-30...

Humane and cheap
Would RecommendI baited it with peanut butter and at 6:30 am the next day, I caught the cutest little brown mouse. I released it in a park a few miles away. Couple of tips. Place the trap againt a wall as mice like to move against baseboards. Make sure you close your car door before you release it. This one nearly dashed back into the car when i opened the trap.
worked well
Would RecommendBought 2 of them to trap a small one and caught and released on the next day morning. I used pnut butter and it worked. I am happy that i did not kill the little trouble maker.
They Do The Job
Would RecommendThese are easy to use. Thay always mske the catch and make it easy to transport and release.
Tomcat mouse trap. Worth every penny.
Would RecommendSomehow had a mice problem in our basement so bought 2 of these, since we didn’t know how many. Baited with peanut butter and set them up before bedtime. The next morning had caught 1 critter. We have a nature preserve 1/4 mile from house so released him there. Who knows, might be a hungry hawk nearby. Anyway easy, no touch release. As it turned out we only had that one in the house. Easy to set up and release mouse.
Amazing!
Would RecommendI bought this for a mouse we had in our farm kitchen in Hawaii. Very quickly, I caught it with a bit of peanut butter on the cap, as instructed. Well, it wasn’t one mouse, I think I’ve caught 13 so far. Sometimes I’ll leave the kitchen and come back 10 minutes later and I’ve got one. I believe I caught four today. The mice here are very light and tiny and this works so well. It seems to be an excellent design and after I catch one, I rinse it out and reset. Very easy!
Very flimsy and very small! While I know it’s not a rat trap the average mouse is by far bigger than the trap. Must be trapping miniature mice!
We apologize that you were not thoroughly satisfied with Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap. We would be interested in speaking with you in further detail ...

These do not work
Would Not RecommendWe’ve had three of these set out for the last two weeks and have yet to catch the mice in our house. The opening also flaps open easily so be careful if you actually manage to catch anything it can slip back out. This was a waste would not recommend.
We are sorry that you are unhappy with Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap. If is not closed but bait is gone then likely the mouse is very small and theref...

Hasn't worked yet
Would Not RecommendHasn't worked after 2 weeks in the garage/workshop. The mouse managed to tip it over a second time and take the bait. This is a very smart mouse. I will keep trying.

Best mouse trap available
Would RecommendI bought four Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Traps during an infestation and humanely trapped and relocated nearly 20 mice from my house. I used peanut butter for the bait, and each mouse was unharmed safely released far away. The Tomcat Live Catch Mouse Trap allowed me to be mouse free without resorting to killing a little sentient creature.
Catch in feed room and turn loose
Would RecommendThis is ideal to use around your animal’s and feed rooms no poison and no dead rodents.
it worked!!
Would RecommendWe just put few shredded cheese and after few hours it clicked! Then release mice outside where it belongs.
Does not work!
Would Not RecommendI actually have a video of a mouse entering, eating the bait and walking out. They are quick, and get back out. I have NOT seen any mice trapped by this useless device.

Caught the mouse in the first hour
Would RecommendPleasantly surprised at how quickly this caught the mouse that was living behind my stove. Had purchased a different catch/release trap which he basically ignored for over a week but within the first hour of setting up this trap using peanut butter as the bait, he walked right in and was caught. Drove him a mile away and was able to easily pop the trap open and release him by a corn field. Brought the trap home and reset it. Now waiting to see if he has any family or friends who might show up lo...
Mouse can escape
Would Not RecommendOnce the trap door closes the mouse can push the door open and escape. The trap door is designed to be pushed outward with a small notch to hold the side rails of the door in place. The rails are uneven and the nub is too small to be effective.
