Great as a Circular Saw Straight Edge
Would RecommendPaired with your own 1/2 in plywood or mdf, then add the Swanson tool to the plywood or mdf, then make you cut with your saw. For mine I made it 8ft long and it works great. Now I always know where the cut edge is so I can line it up to make perfect cuts

Swanson straight edge
Bought this excited to finally have a straight edge and got home and didn’t have all the parts. It was promised to have clamps and screws to make it work. I ended up returning it for just a four ft. Level that did the job. Very dissatisfied.

Straight edge for ripping sheets wood
Works great for ripping 8' sheets of plywood and particle board with a skill saw. Easy on sideways pressure and you'll get a nice clean cut. Too much lateral pressure and the ruler will bend slightly.

Does it’s job. Knocked a couple stars off because storing it with the connection hardware is a pain and the clamps suck. I just my Irwin quick clamps instead of wasting my time with the provided clamps.

Great straight edge with clamps for the price
Would RecommendI use the runner provided to join the two 4 ft straight edge as a base plate for my circular saw to get straight cuts each time. Just a small tweak to get straight cuts each time. This limits my cutting length to 4 feet but i rarely make cuts longer than that.
