Same problem every one else has, GAS CYLINDER FAIL

The gas cylinder fails to open the access door. Then your firearm is not accessible to ANYONE. Sentry isn’t offering to address the problem. I’m waiting to hear about a solution.

Easy to use

The safe was easy to set up and the biometric works perfectly every time.

Safe is nice...bad strut

Safe is nice but after a year or so the opening strut goes bad and the safe won't open... Needs a better design or better strut

I am very displeased. The fingerprint feature does not work at all. There literally is no reset button at all behind the battery like the manual says either.

Safe & Easy to use

This safe is the perfect balance between the small (portable) safes and bigger gun lockers. Easy to get into with numerical code or biometric (which actually works well!), and back-up key. Excellent value.

Yes, struts go back

I am glad I realized it before I needed it. Rarely used it and now the strut is bad and opens barely enough yo get your fingers under. Love the biometric. I think based on these reviews that Sentry ought to take a look at these and maybe not make them in China

Secure and convenient

Quick access is great, Biometric entry is a little less reliable with all the hand washing altering finger prints (depends on skin moisture content ?) but button code entry is often as fast as several swipes on biometric reader.

I love the safe however the Biometrics are difficult to set up. Other than that it’s great.

New Piston Spring Fixes Opening Problem

After one year the gas piston failed to open the lid with the biometric fingerprint. I purchased a better piston spring at a hardware store for less than a dollar. The improved spring pops the lid up better than when it was new....problem solved!

Well made

Needed a pistol safe that was quick opening yet secure from unauthorized access. Only problem with this one is the opener cylinder won't open the door like the display model does. Must have lost its charge.

Cool safe

I was currently using a snap safe and regular plastic gunsafe that is using keys and locks so, I found my self shuffling keys around and to gain access o my firearms which really wasn’t settling for me having the what if factor in the back of my head. I would have to go running and scrambling with keys in a time of need. Strong, solid and simple

The safe is a perfect size for my home defense pistol. It's solidly built with a powerful piston. The code and fingerprint set-ups took just a couple of minutes and work perfectly. So far, it's everything it claims to be.

Great safe but won’t open after one year

Gas strut failed after one year. Unlocks fine but I have to pry the door up now

Great Small Safe but Difficult to Program

This safe is perfect for me to store my gun securely. However, while I'm able to program it with my custom code, I've been unable to program it to accept my fingerprint. It's still a great and secure safe that I still recommend.

Junk- a criminals dream...

I purchased 2 safes for my pistols. One never really opened all the way and the other took about a year to have problems. It now takes about 5 seconds to get halfway open or has to be pried open. Seems like it is a pretty common issue with this brand from what I read. Poor design or parts or both. Pretty bad for something that you need to open quickly. Expensive and not worth the cost.

Strong, safe and secure. Easy to access, multiple options for accessing contents. Portable is needed, and plenty of room. Customer service is top notch.

Safety issue: The lid barely opens anymore

I loved this safe when I first bought it. Over time the force in which the lid would open seemed to get weaker. Yesterday when I tried to open it, it barely opened a crack and I had to pry it open with my fingernails. This is not acceptable in an emergency situation and makes this safe useless to me now.
