Great features, looks very strurdy

Very nice safe. Bought it for my small handgun to keep it near me, but also keep it secured. This safe does both. Small and compact, yet sturdy. Love that there are 3 different ways to access the contents of the safe in the event of an emergency. I did buy the extended warranty as I've read many negative reviews regarding the gas strut that auto-opens the door giving out

Struts are garbage

The reason I purchased this safe was for quick access to my weapon. The strut no longer works and I have to manually open the door, which makes this safe worthless in a nighttime, quick situation. After reading reviews, it looks to be a manufacturers defect. Sentry should offer free replacement of these struts because they don’t even last for a reasonable amount of time.

Started out nice.....

I loved this safe in the beginning, but after 6 months of use the shock doesnt even open the door. Completely useless if you need to get into it quickly. Right now I have to take my knife and open it after I unlock it. Can't believe it only lasted 6 months.

Excellent pistol safe

It's built well and I really like the 3 ways to open. This is definitely worth the money. Great value.

Good Safe, Bad Strut Spring - Here's My Fix

This safe is great but like other folks my strut spring weakened over a couple years and the door would not auto open. I removed the strut (1 nut and 1 screw), removed the screw-on fitting at the bottom, and put an old Sig P238 recoil spring on. Fits perfectly and pops open like it's on steroids. Before buying this safe, I recommend first checking with the manufacturer and see if they've remedied this design flaw.

Opens every time. No misreads on the fingerprint. A touch to wake and a touch to open. A must for home defense firearms.

Love this safe

I purchased this safe for a full-size pistol, to keep it away from children and out of sight. It is rock solid, easy to set up, and is a breeze to open. The fingerprint works every time.

Almost perfect

This is my second unit. Like for my previous review, I wish sentry safe will add detachable cable like the other competitors to easily secure it to the bed frame or the like. I think this is the only thing lacking with the sentry safe. Other than that I love the other features, already have 2 single pistol biometric and planning to purchase another

Doesn’t last, door fails

Just as others have said the door strut does not push the door all the way open but rather only pops it open about an inch which is a really big concern and a bad situation if you need to quickly retrieve your secured firearm. I have had the unit just over a year.

Great product, right price and safe

Just got this safe after reviewing many. It was a bit of a touch and go with set up but got it working. Wish it would do both fingerprint and code not one or the other. Perhaps I am missing something. If I wish to get to something quickly I like to have a back up access in addition to the key. However the bio metrics work great thus far.

I can’t believe the great amount of reviews about the bad strut, and what’s worst is sentrysafe is still forcing us to buy replacement parts. You would think something as important as a safe that keeps your firearm to be MORE reliable. I can’t believe my eyes, my god. God forbid a real emergency occurs but the safe won’t open due to bad struts springs or whatever you call it. As a business you guys should own up to the mistake of releasing a bad product such as this safe. Honestly something must...

Great but not perfect

Exact size to secure 1 firearm. Adequate interior padding but wish there was too on the battery cover. Easy to program and set. Love the fingerprint access. Opens fast and quite. The sides though looks like it can easily be pry open with a screw driver. My only gripe was there should have been a slot to secure a cable to wrap around a stationary post aside the option of bolting it down. Maybe they will think placing one in the future. I have to find a cable with a 3/16" diameter and thread it to...

Door to Weak to Open

The safe worked great for the first year. I don't open the safe too often, it was my near bed protection safe. Luckily I wanted to switch out firearms into the safe and it barely opened. I had to pry with a knife, no spring in the door. I am now looking for a new option. Extremely disappointing! Glad it wasn't an emergency.

Gas Strut Replacement

After about 6 years the Gas Strut in my gun safe wore out. Called customer service. GREAT service!!! They shipped a new gas strut out to me that day. Just installed the new gas strut and it works perfect. Even came with very good instructions.
