Works pretty good

Time will tell but I've had good luck with this seed in the past so I do expect good results. I gave it 4 stars only because it's too early to really give it 5 since it hasn't all come in yet.

Scotts quality is second to none!

The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there was a small area on a slope and I thought this seed will take care of it but it didn’t the first two trials. All in all I’m very happy with this product

Easy to open bag

It had clear and easy to read instructions. I poured the bag in my spreader that is made by scott as well. So it gave me the correct number to set the spreader too. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always used and highly recommend Scott’s products. Yes, there are cheaper brands. However, in my opinion, it doesn’t pay to use them. Especially when it comes to grass seed. The “ cheap “ brands simply don’t grow.

Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Instructions were very easy to follow and included settings for edge guard spreader. It took a few days to see little sprouts come up but once a few popped up it came in fast. Still pretty thin, but it’s only been a few days. Can’t wait to see how it looks in a few weeks.

Turf Builder Tall Fescue
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still early in the season but the grass from the tall fescue looks really good so far. It is coming up evenly in our yard which is partially elevated. I spread the grass seed over existing grass as opposed to a new lawn with no grass. Can easily see the new grass as opposed to the existing. Looking forward to warmer weather and watching the grass grow taller.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Laid down a bag of this in a shady area on the west side of my house. Probably gets 2-3 hours of sun during mid day hours. In about 3 weeks I have great coverage. Hopefully it will fill in more with time or I will spread another bag of seeds.

Spreading a BIG problem!
I submitted a detailed review of my spreading problems a couple days ago. Since then, I have read ALL of the other reviews. I found this one: 1 out of 5 stars. Paul 45 · 10 months ago This was a catastrophe. Every 10 to 20' the rotary spreader jammed because the product was too large to get through the slot. Mine was not your first message about the spreading problem!

Good fertilizer but seed did not germinate
I followed the application directions after spot seeding with Scott's Southern Gold fescue mix the same day I seeded another area with a Pennington seed and fertilizer combo not containing weed control. Despite watering both areas similarly the spot seeded areas did not germinate at all while the other area germinated in 7 days. It could have been a problem with the seed, but I would not recommend using this product after seeding.
