I bought 3 bags of the Scott’s turf builder triple action for seeding and I am very angry with the results I aerated and leveled out my yard before putting the turf builder down 16 days ago Now the only thing I have growing is dandelions

Don’t use. Ruins your lawn fast.

Used in early spring as directed on lawn and newly seeded bare patches. No seed germinated. Lawn is covered in yellow patches within a week or so after application. Followed directions to a T. Terrible product. I’ve used the older seed starter plus halts before many times, worked great. Couldn’t find it so I tried this,

How can I get a question answered?

I bought this product but I also just seeded with Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Sun & Shade Mix, which also contains starter fertilizer. I don't want to burn my lawn, so can I use this product with the other product, or is it only to be used with grass seed only? I cannot find anything on the site for guidance.

No it doesn't for the south.

In the south we need advice about warm season grasses.90%of the yards are warm season grasses that product is no good for me

I have been a loyal Scott’s customer for many years. Since they have repackaged the products to smaller quantities (32# instead of 40#) and doubled the price over the last 2 years, I will be purchasing another brand!

Last fall worked great, very little weed pressure

I used this last fall to great success , and will use it today when I overseed. Southern Belle TTTF / Texas Bluegrass blend from Mountain View Seeds... The Meso in this fert can leave a bleaching effect on existing turf , as it grows out and is mowed it will return to its green glory. To all who leave the negative reviews...do a little research 1st , prepare & decide whats rite for your lawn....a nice lawn isnt a sprint, its a marathon!!! lol , good luck to all , have a great Fall!!!

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shade mix grass seed is great. It is so hard to get grass to grow under the trees in my yard because it never gets any sun. This grass seed mix worked wonders for covering the bare patches there. I would definitely recommend this product

Worked great until summer heat killed new growth

Great product. Started it in mid-spring & it grew in thick until mid-summer temperatures (28-34 c) killed off most of the new growth. The area gets 2-3 hrs of late afternoon sun daily. Gonna try again in the early fall. Hope the winter won't kill off the fall growth.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts® Turf Builder® Grass Seed Tall Fescue Mix is some of the best grass seed I have ever used. I planted it shortly after receiving the seed and it has grown nicely in areas that other seed has not grown in the past.

Great Starter Fertilizer

I always use this product when renovating or over-seeding lawns. Used correctly, it’s a champ.

Grows in shade like it says.

I'm not sure if this is because of the cool spring that slowed germination. What has grown in is still alive and thriving in an area that had significant bare spots. This area does receive some sun, maybe 4 hours a day.

Great for patching

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this grass seed to patch some areas that didn’t grow previously. We aerated, added the seed, and added straw on top. We watered everyday and within two weeks or so you could see the grass shoots starting to fill in.

Great Results

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to wait since we had such a cold spring, but once I got this in the ground and the nicer temps came, this seed germinated really well. Its starting to come in really thick, so it seems like I had a really great germination rate. I'll definitely be using more of this.

Did not grow well for us.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed a new hot tub and decided to use this around the hot tub to regrow all the grass that we lost when it was installed. We used as directed and made sure to water but we got very little growth in that area.

Grass grows where others before it failed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried growing grass in a very shady location a few times previously with no luck, but this product did what previously seemed impossible. My backyard is mostly shade and mostly clay, so it's a tough task to grow in new areas. I had others more knowledgeable tell me I'd never grow grass in this particular location but this stuff did the trick It says it includes a ground treatment in addition to a growth fertilizer. Really does grow in dense shade!

I have a small-ish area at the side of my house that is shaded for the majority of the day, thanks to my neighbors fence and a large river birch tree. After preparing the area I seeded using the Dense Shade mix & watered regularly to keep the soil moist. After about 10 days I was amazed to see a lot of healthy looking green shoots. Did not work

Followed all instructions, did not produce any grass. Disappointed in the time, effort and money spent.

Another year of disappointment…

My lawn came out like the photos with large yellow patches, and that was after applying at “4” instead of the recommended “4 1/2” with my broadcast spreader.

Ive used a Scotts products for decades

I rate the Scotts line of lawn products a 7 out of 10 overall. It is important to understand your soil is the most important part to establishing a great looking lawn. It takes time effort and a commitment. Scotts products are a wonderful aid to help achieve a great lawn, but their products are not magic.
