Nice Coverage

I wanted to paint my old countertop and decided to use this tinted in misty gray. The first coat did a nice overage but I did a second one. Nice coverage of old countertop. I used about a quarter because I did not have much to cover. Will definitely do again. I finished it off with acrylic paint to make it look like granite. I used acrylic paints in dark gray, silver, and pearl white. In that order. I added more pearl white to lighten it up more. I am pleased with the results.

Disappointed

Tested on a small portion of 30 year old kitchen counter. Prepped by cleaning thoroughly and lightly sanding. I have a lot of experience refinishing furniture and have sucessfully painted laminate previously with really thorough prep, regular latex paint, and a good top coat. This paint just didn't hold up. Worked well

Painted the countertop and two tables in my motorhome. Overall, it turned out really well. Two things to be aware of though: 1.) This stuff is oil based, so it stinks BAD. I ended up wearing my paint respirator mask. It's day two now, and it still smells. I'm thinking it's going to be several more days, with the windows open, before it stops smelling. 2.) garbage!

THere is no good way to spread it with out streaks and it does not self level at all. Tried heat to get rid of high spots and bubbles and it did not work. Complete garbage.

1 year review

I bought a house with a tile countertop in the kitchen, not knowing that tile makes for a terrible material because the grout collects dirt. I spent 4 hours scraping the tile/grout off of the old countertop and hand sanding. I cleaned the counter per the instructions on the can, and applied quickly (it took me all of 15 minutes for actual application). One year later it still looks great and I expect to get a couple more years out of it before remodeling the kitchen.

Inexpensive solution to replacing counters

I don't have the skills nor money to replace my countertops so I was looking for an inexpensive solution. I originally looked into the refinishing kits but didn't like the colors. When I asked the Lowe's paint associate about this paint, his comment was "Well, it just looks like you painted your counters." HORRIBLE! Made me sick from odor! & smears bad!

this stuff is horrible! The smell made me very sick and I had on an N-95 mask with all windows opened in the house. I had to leave my house :( mad my stomach hurt and hard to breathe. I could not do a second coat. It also smears like crazy and doesn't coat well. I would advice anyone to not bother trying to paint your counters with this stuff. It is worth replacing them. Wait until you can afford to do so. Now we have to live with smeary counters until we can. Again I can not stress enough how...

Just put on but looks good

Just put this on tonight, lightly sanded and cleaned before painting. Goes on easy and smooth. Just wondering if this needs any type of sealer?

Worked really well.

I lightly sanded my countertop. Then cleaned it with Simple Green. I put 3 light coats on. It covered really well. It looks great and feels durable.

Ok, but not a long-term solution

I painted over my hunter green cheap-o counters. Looks like a garage floor. I guess visually it looks better than green, but I dont love it. A little too shiny for me. The smell almost made me quit the process-no amount of ventilation would help. I dont believe it will hold up to spills and i think it will scratch easily. Will probably replace counters soon, but it was worth a try for $20 and an afternoon’s work.

we used this on 2 countertops in seperate bathrooms.Looks good and was easy to use.Fumes was strong for a while,so open a few windows!Pic shows our small top with a new sink!It was a old and ugly green top.

I was hopeful

We purchased this product in hopes to refresh and renew our countertops affordably. The process wasn't simple but we were mostly pleased with the end result. We did no prep work on the countertops because it was just laminate and the directions didn't require any prep for that. We just started painting. We let the product dry as the directions stated in between coats. We let it sit for a full 3 days before returning all items to our countertops. We have noticed after sitting normal kitchen...

Do not recommend

I used two thin coats and let it cure for 3 days. Day 3 and I’m leaving imperfections all over my counter and it is not scratch resistant. I was really hoping this product would work but for me it didn’t. I can see every little scratch and blemish that has occurred from one day of use. Don’t even think of putting anything remotely warm on your new counter, it will stick and leave marks in the paint, I charged my phone on it and it stuck to it! Goes a lot farther than it says

I bought 2 cans to paint a 19 sf countertop. It says it covers 25 sf and I wanted 2 coats. I used less than half a can and will return the other can. HOWEVER, the colors on the side of the can are not true. I wanted a saddle brown and the salesperson recommended Wheat. If it had turned out the color on the can, it would have been fine. But it's much more yellow than I thought it would be.

Great product

Just finished painting our bathroom countertops the Ash color which is a soft gray. Love the color. Clean tops throughly with Dawn and hot water. Use a sanding block to lightly degloss top so paint can adhere then use tacky cloth to get all dust and wipe again with water to clean. I did four coats letting each coat cure for 24 hours. Wish I knew about it sooner!

Worked great, looks fantastic. Results were better than expected. READ the directions. Negative reviewers did NOT follow them and they seem to have various problems. I used 3 coats. First 2 I did one hour apart and the third I did 24 hours later.

Countertop Coating

I was very pleased with how easy it was to apply and roller marks flowed out nicely. It has now been a week and it has a beautiful finish and not sticky to the touch.
