What Customers Are Saying
The product has received mixed reviews. Some found it easy to apply, durable, and effective at restoring the appearance of their decks. However, many reported issues with application, coverage, color consistency, and durability, with the product failing within a year even when used as directed. The consensus seems to be that this is a problematic product that does not live up to its claims.

Would Not RecommendI did my deck with this in late September, and now here it is April and it's all peeling off, it was the biggest waste of money I've spent. I would recommend that you don't use this product it is not worth the money.
Peeled off in sheets by Wind
Would Not RecommendI have written this review on the 3 gallon product page as well. I had purchased this item last year and applied it to my very small patio deck. We had followed the instructions; power washing the deck, making sure it was clear of dirt and debris, ensuring the deck was dry before applying, and ensuring the weather would allow sufficient drying time. We also made sure to use the special roller that Rust-Oleum recommended. After it was applied and dried, it looked great. The color also brightened...

Restore Not
Would Not RecommendI put this on our deck in October following all directions. It took more paint than indicated and the job was a 12-13 hour project for a medium size deck. Once on, it looked reasonable. However, after the winter months and the beginning of warm weather, the paint was literally peeling up and flaking off. When the company was contacted, they definitely had dealt with this before and had their script ready to go. We did receive some satisfaction, but I would strongly suggest avoiding this product....

Love it
Would RecommendI taped lines to make large brick look and I love it! Filled in large gaps and went from concrete to plywood and kept an even look.

Really covers!
Would RecommendYou really need two coats. The first coat does a lot of filling and the second coat fills and finishes. It really makes old wood look new. The manufacturer may not like me to tell you this but, I found adding a little water to the second coat made the paint flow more evenly. Just a little tip!

I thought it would be a thick white paint and cover the fresh wood surface. It dried clear and lumpy and runny. Never expected that from Rustolium .

If I had it to do over again, I would have diluted my first coat to allow the product to flow into the smaller cracks in the wood. Secondly, my deck was less than 144sq.feet, but I purchases 6 gallons,...and still ran short, purchased 2 more gallons to finish.

Affordable stucco!
Would RecommendA much looser form, and a little messy, but goes on thick, and the end product is as tough as stone! In addition, clean up is a breeze! The stuff comes right off rollers and skin with soap and water:)

RESTORE 10X EXTERIOR PAINT
Would Not RecommendI would NEVER recommend this paint to anyone! I have a small wood porch that I used this on. Instructions say one gallon provides two coats - NOT. I had to use four gallons of paint to put two coats to cover my 5' X 5' wood porch. Now some of the thickness is chipping off to reveal a painted wood. I followed all of the instructions and used the recommended tools. All my time and money is wasted as this paint is not meant to last.

Great in 1 gallon container - not 3 gallon.
Would RecommendWhen I bought the first 3 gallon container, the gentleman in the paint department warned me that it went on slowly, so when it was difficult to spread, I figured it was the way it was supposed to be. But when I needed more and the three gallon container wasn't available, I purchased three 1-gallon containers - WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I think the 3 gallon was OLD. Also, I needed three more gallons and paid a different amount each time - ??? (Would take to long to write all of the details). It was dis...

Don't Give up Yet
Would RecommendThree years ago I was advised to scrap my 19 year old deck because it was "beyond repair." Since I have rather extensive decking around my house I was not ready to go into the expense of a new deck. In my search for deck restoration I came upon Rust Oleum's Deck Restore and decided to give it a try. I put it on the most deteriorated section of my deck to try it out. When I applied it I was disappointed in the color I chose - it was redder than I had hoped - but over time I got used to it. My big...

No more slippery deck
Would RecommendThe Rustoleum Restore is just what we were looking for. Our deck had not been treated in the past 3 years so there was bare wood in the high traffic areas along with well covered areas. The Restore covered evenly. The texture is totally slip resistant, wet or dry. It took almost 4 gallons to cover an average size deck with 2 steps. We used regular deck treatment on the railing because of the texture. Interested to see how it holds up over the winter.

not as good as described
Would Not Recommendthis product is not all it says it is. does not wear well and does not last long. We used it last year and are already having to redo the same area this year. For the cost it should have lasted longer

waiting to cure
Would RecommendUsed the product on a concrete porch and liked the look and finish after two coats. The product is very thick and takes a lot of work to spread evenly and a gallon does not go very far. I got water on the surface 3 days after the first coat and the coating became soft and started coming up. Reading the fine print says not to put furniture or items on it for 4-5 days and that it can take 4-5 WEEKS to totally cure. Not sure we'll go that long without rain. Just have to wait and see.

Would not recommend
Would Not RecommendThe roller that you buy to use with the product makes the paint flip all over the place, yourself, your house, just makes a mess. I had to use two gallons for a small area and it still didn't cover it all evenly. Was like using a thinner cement.
