What Customers Are Saying

The product has received mixed reviews. Some found it easy to apply, durable, and effective at restoring the appearance of their decks. However, many reported issues with application, coverage, color consistency, and durability, with the product failing within a year even when used as directed. The consensus seems to be that this is a problematic product that does not live up to its claims.

I have used this product before and I like it a lot. My deck wood is getting old and this keeps it good for a couple more years so I don`t have to replace the whole deck right away. Thanks for providing this paint at my local Lowes store.

not easy to apply....needed to use a hand brush plus the smaller roller they recommend to apply and have the finished look... have a 10x 10 deck and it needed more than 5 gallon to cover and put a second coat over. When covering it was filling the in between areas of deck boards and like the look of it so let it stand dry. Not realizing when it rains that it really hold the water so nowhere for excess water to drain but overall dried quickly.

Restore 10 X

Would Recommend

Used the product on a dock. Much better to brush on. We are very happy with the color and texture. Our dock is 21 years old and was beginning to show wear. Product filled in rough and weathered boards. Started out using the suggested roller. It did not roll on well at all. Gave up on that idea and brushed it on. Coverage much better brushing it on. I think the suggested roller for the product is too stiff and does not hold this thick sand paint very well. Clean up was easy. Now we will wait and ...

Do not buy this stuff

This stuff is terrible. It's like painting with drywall mud. It all chipped and peeled off in a matter of weeks

Like painting with peanut butter

Take my advise and mix this product with the matching Rustoleum stain (stain without the sand in it) 50/ 50 for best results. Only use it if your wood is in really poor shape, otherwise use a normal stain.

Does the job well, but covers much less surface

Would Recommend

Very thick paint. Accomplished the task well. I used 2 times the paint I was expecting to use. You do end up with a bumpy surface as stated when using the recommended "sponge roller". It does fill holes when you take the effort to make sure the holes get extra paint. It takes a little extra attention, but no problem. Assuming the paint does not chip, fade, etc. this is an excellent product. I was able to send in $25 rebates per 5 gallon bucket which made the price VERY good. Must allow extra tim...

2nd project; worth the effort

Would Recommend

Excellent results on my deck, excellent results on my porch. Watch the video; it isn't the easiest finish but if you want easy, don't expect quality. Once this product sets it is very durable; don't rush it.

Complete waste of money!

First, I will admit I was not using this to restore a deck. It appeared it would work well as a floor coating for an enclosed trailer. This stuff is so thick that it goes on like mud. I bought one gallon to do the floor of a 6x12 trailer, the one gallon was not enough to finsh 72 sq. feet appropriately. The second gallon was worse than the first as far as being very thick and lack of coverage, I was using the recommended rustoleum texture roller which made the lack of coverage even worse. I woul...

Resore 10X

Would Recommend

Excellent for those larger splits or cracks in wood. I would recommend this for the larger cracks and the thinner restore for hairline cracks. Use a combination of both.

This stuff is Junk

Would Not Recommend

Last spring I used this so called Restore 10x on my deck. There was a lot of bare unstained wood and what stain was there was prepped according to instructions. I followed the instructions as listed on the 3 gallon barrel, waited the appropriate time before walking on it and waited the additional time to allow total set up before placing the deck furniture back on the deck. Approx. 6 weeks passed before rain hit the deck, and it began bubbling up all over the deck. Over the ensuing year the coat...

Worse purchase ever

Would Not Recommend

Purchased this for my porch which is covered and if rain spatters on it or when walked on it just comes right off. Three other family members bought it at the same time I did for their decks and it just comes off when it rains. I would not recommend this at all. Worst purchase ever.

Great product to extend life of deck

Would Recommend

I put this product on our aging deck and it has made the deck significantly stronger and the sand in the product has cut down on how slippery it is when it rains. Love this product.

Be aware before you start!

Would Recommend

This stuff is excellent. Easy to apply, looks great, hard wearing. That said, you need to be on board with several things: 1. This is not cheap. $25 a gallon appears pretty reasonable but remember, THIS IS NOT PAINT. It is sand encased in a painty glue. Don't be thinking "two gallons and I'm good." Don't be using the can's estimates, either. You will use a lot if you want it to work. 2. Buy the applicator roller. It is not optional. You may need two if painting goes on for more than a couple day...

LOVE this stuff!

I was hesitant to purchase this product after reading all of the negative reviews. I wanted/needed this for my deck steps, which are 25 years old. The wood in itself has held up pretty good, they just needed to be refreshed. Everything I have tried in the past never made it over the winter. I found this stuff. Since the reviews were all pretty bad I just got one gallon to try. I bought the special roller to apply. It's pretty messy and doesn't go as far as you would like, but the finished produc...

Restoring concrete

Would Recommend

I ordered this with the sand stone color. I did my back yard in a beach theme and wanted to simulate sand on my concrete. Under the awning slab, I rolled it on with their recommended roller. It took a lot of paint. It splatters so you have to roll it very slow. I then took a paint brush on my other patio and brushed it on thick and some areas thin, made swirling motions. It looks just like wind blown sand. I love it. It's been about 3 weeks, with hot days, cool days, and stormy rainy days and it...

Terrible product. Didn't last 6 months before bubbling and flaking on concrete porch. Concrete was prepared according to directions. Now how do I get it off.
