I recently purchased these in order to get my garden tractor/mower (John Deere 318) into the bed of my truck. Was a little skeptical at first, due to the fact the mower's dry weight is 830 lbs and I weigh right @ 300, but the ramps have worked very well. I used knot free, pressure treated 2x10x10's instead of the recommended 2x8's. They were a tiny bit bouncy, so i added a little angle iron to the bottom and it was fixed. $45 in them total. perfect for most jobs

I don't expect to use ramps much, so I didn't want to pay a lot. I made ramps with 8 foot boards and it worked great for getting a bush hog into my pickup bed. The instructions have a chart showing the required board length vs. the height of the ramp. I almost took the ramps back right away, because for my Frontier 4x4, the ramps were supposed to be almost 12 feet long!
