Would RecommendEasy to assemble, 2 person job, started on first pull. Split 4 mid sized trees no problem. No leaks on pre-assembled hoses as mentioned in other reviews.
Blew up and into flames while using
Would Not RecommendThis solitter worked great for 8 months then today when using it the entire end of the ram cylinder blew off. The ring shattered and went everywhere like a grenade, about a 15-20’ stream of hydraulic fluid sprayed everywhere (to include the top of the exhaust which then caught the too of the exhaust and motor on fire!!!
"Ill be back"
Would RecommendI named it Arnold after Arnold Schwarzenegger because it is so strong. I have been splitting 24 inch logs.

Broken part
Would RecommendRan for 10 minute. Slowed throttle down 2 times. Third time throtteled up wouldn't stay up. Looked and found 9 plastic pieces on ground and on engine some were slivers others size of finger nail. Called a local repair shop FS Equipment. They picked splitter up charged me $80.00 for pick up and they said couldn't find where a plastic piece would have been and had tightened throttle screw to torque spec and told me not covered under warranty. I had picked up all the pieces and 2 had a part number ...

Works great
Would RecommendI purchased it because I know usually you can rent something for maybe 8 or nine times for the price you could have bought one. Anyway, I've had no problem with this machine. I've split about 10 cords of wood from my 6 oaks I felled because of the camp fire. It didn't have a problem with any sections of the tree. Straights, crotches and side branches. Works Great. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wood splitter
Would RecommendThis log splitter works very well and appears to be built well to last long. I had read positive reviews on it prior to purchasing. The negative thing that came up more than once was the improper assembly of the hose system at the store. Mine was no different. I needed to completely disassembled the hydraulic lines and reassemble them while the splitter was in the vertical position to allow for splitting position to be freely change from vertical to horizontal.

GOT WOOD
Would RecommendThis splitter is king of the chopping block. Very little hesitation when splitting through branched cuts. The reliable Briggs engine started first pull right out of the box and free assembly saved me hours of assembly time. This is an awesome machine that makes firewood gathering even more fun.

Great splitter
Would RecommendWood splitter works as advertised. Sales person was very congenial and helpful, but I do have one issue. Apparently, Lowe’s contracts with an outside entity for assembly of the product. While the splitter has a water resistant container for manuals, instructions, etc., they failed to use it. I was not provided with an owner’s manual or a dipstick for the hydraulic fluid reservoir. I sent an email to the company, and received no response. The sales professional did promise to look and see if he h...

1st month
Would RecommendDuring the first few weeks I have had this splitter I can report only good thing as for as operation. One little thing about it when I 1st brought it home. The engine oil and side rust grill where just laying on the top of the splitter bed not packaged in any way. I found there was no fasteners to attach the grill and returned to the local Lowe’s where I had to buy the washers and nuts. Less than a dollars but they did not offer to replace them. When I got home and started to assemble the side c...

Nothing to complain about
I bought the cheapest splitter i could find. It does everything i would expect it to do. Ive split about 10 cords of wood from 6in to 42in goes threw like butter. The working shelf is awesome can hold a 1/4 log great, 1/2 log for smaller rounds. But spitter needs to be level or leaning back to avoid sliding onto engine. I was missing english owners manual but went on performance built site quick message and within 20 minutes had pdf in my email. I honestly could not expect anything mo...
Very good but bad design
Would RecommendWhen you use the splitter the wood debris falls on the muffler. Poor design. I use the splitter for less then 3 hour when the hydraulic cylinder started to leak. Very strong motor. Overall very good for the price

It is a great log splitter
Would RecommendWe have worked it hard. We split a lot of red and white oak. The oak is green and hard. The log slitter bite right through the wood. Dr George Tomes

Recently purchased, pleased so far
Would RecommendI bought this splitter a few weeks ago. I have had to fill the gas tank three times while I have been splitting wood. So far, it has run smoothly. It has good power, and has been able to split my oak logs, up to 18" in diameter, without any problems. Based on how it handles 18" logs, I believe it could split a 24" log.
