What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise this solenoid as an effective, easy-to-install replacement that resolves sprinkler valve issues like failure to shut off or activation problems, with most reporting immediate results. Many complete installation in under ten minutes without professional help. Reviewers highlight broad compatibility across Rain Bird, Orbit, Irritrol, and other brands, noting it works as a universal substitute for discontinued models. However, some report product images don't match received items, with newer designs arriving instead of pictured versions. A few mention buzzing, O-ring incompatibility, or wiring modifications needed. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it a reliable, cost-effective solution.

Would RecommendIt was a perfect fit for my system. took less than ten minutes to install and fix the problem I was having. I had ordered a "perfect replacement" on line and it wasn't plus it was twice as expensive as this one.

I like Lowe's
Just what I needed. Competitive price. Great service.
wrong item when purchased online
Would Not RecommendAt my local store this item does not exist anymore they have replaced with 57226 so if you purchase this item pictured 57041 you will get 57226 which will not work.
Picture IS NOT correct.
Would Not RecommendThe above picture is NOT the item I was given. Same item number. Same model #. This is what I needed. It’s not what they gave me. The clerks were clueless and could have cared less.

Great replacement for Weathermatic S20P valve
Would RecommendGreat replacement for Weathermatic S20P main valve
Wrong Item in Picture
Would Not RecommendApparently you can't get these solenoids anymore. There is a replacement part number for these that are not the correct one but Lowes trys to pass them off anyway, along with actually everyone else who sells this solenoid. They come with a much shorter plunger mechanism and are not the metal/spring assembly. I have ran a landscape management business for 9 years and for some reason in the last 2 years, these things are impossible to find in order to fix older systems.
THEY WORK JUST FINE, EVEN AFTER A YEAR.
Would RecommendI just saw some of the negative reviews left here, so I thought I would let you know my experience. I purchased 2 of these last year to replace some dead Nelson solenoids. Both replacements worked fine and are still working. I just purchased another of these solenoids last week and installed it. The installation went smoothly, although it helps to have a little basic plumbing and electrical experience. All three are still running fine.
Works fine, some reviews are misleading
Would RecommendThis works just fine. Check your bag, be sure it was not open. I saw some bags open with parts missing or dismantled, that is likely why some bad reviews - that is not the product's fault. The bad review about buzzing in not valid. Mine buzzed for less than a minute and the second time I turned it turned on it was silent. I am using this to replace the Irritrol 811 solenoid. It works GREAT for that!
Replacement from Richdel r701 with adjustment.
Would RecommendThis worked to replace my 40 YO Richdel r701 solenoid - BUT, you have to remove the old o-ring because it is built in on the new version. If you don't the water will not shut off. This worked on 2 of 3 zones, the 3rd one had a bad diaphragm and I had to rebuild it with parts from Irritrol 205.
Does not fit 3/4 inch manifolds as claimed
Would Not RecommendI've been going around in circles with this because of incorrect substitution information. I installed an Orbit irrigation system with 3/4 inch solenoids and manifolds. The original solenoid (Orbit name on side) clearly has a 3/4 inch thread. The replacement solenoids are smaller with threads closer to 18mm.

Worked for Irritrol 700 series valve
Would RecommendI went to purchase the other model that Lowe’s has on their website #57041 they did not have it but looks like this is the newer substitute because it shares the same item#. I was skeptical it was gonna work because it didn’t look the same as the model I went to the store to get with the white plunger. Surprisingly it worked. I had an older model irritrol 700 series valve. All fixed now.
Replacement Solenoid for RainBird EV100 Valve
Would RecommendThe EV100 valve is over 30 years old with no information about what parts will work... even from rainbird. This solenoid with the metal plunger is an exact replacement solenoid. Hope this shows up in Google searches to save other people a lot of frustration.
Lousy solenoid
Would Not RecommendI purchased several of these to replace old Orbit solenoids. I had to return them as they did not work. I ended up having to hire a repairman at the tune of $200 to tell me the $10 each new solenoids were the problem. These are cheaply made. The plastic threads easily strip plus the plunger is cheap plastic. But bottom line is "they don't work". The repairman placed Irritrol solenoids and my valves went back to work. When I called Orbit on several occasions trying to get help prior to hiring a r...
Why Buy Just the Electrical Part??
Would Not RecommendWhy Buy Just the Electrical Part for $10.00 when you can get the Entire NEW Solenoid Valve for $13?? These Valves work good, but why not Have some Spare Parts for Just $3 Dollars!! Store the Spare Parts in a Sealed Container!!
