What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise this solenoid as an effective, easy-to-install replacement that resolves sprinkler valve issues like failure to shut off or activation problems, with most reporting immediate results. Many complete installation in under ten minutes without professional help. Reviewers highlight broad compatibility across Rain Bird, Orbit, Irritrol, and other brands, noting it works as a universal substitute for discontinued models. However, some report product images don't match received items, with newer designs arriving instead of pictured versions. A few mention buzzing, O-ring incompatibility, or wiring modifications needed. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it a reliable, cost-effective solution.

Would Not RecommendWarning: Pictured solenoid does NOT match contents. Orbit has new solenoid version whose model number is same as old (when purchased separately) - misleading. The (new-version) solenoid also did NOT work when wired up.
Only works with Orbit valves now*.
Would Not RecommendPrevious model worked to replace WeatherMatic and other non orbit solenoids. This new model, with the same item number, no longer is compatible. Long story short, go visit your local irrigation supply store and get real parts from people who know what they are talking about.
Orbit Solenoid
Would RecommendFirst, this picture is not what you get. Similar but different. The one you get has a black plunger and is shown in another view on Lowe's site. Secondly, and not Lowe's fault, but this Orbit solenoid is not the quality of the one I had that went bad. Orbit is making them more cheaply now. Surprise, surprise! That seems to be the way it is with everything anymore. The older ones were made of metal were it screws in. Now they are plastic so be careful not to screw in crooked because you will ruin...

Not what I ordered!
Would Not RecommendSearched Lowe's website, found what I needed, ordered, arrives & it's wrong part. Ordered model 57041 and received model 57226. Appears they have the same item number, they are not interchangeable.
This picture does not match the model 57041!
Would Not RecommendThis solenoid does not fit Rainmaster / Richdel valves. The item in the store, labeled model 57041 does not have a protruding plunger as depicted.
Missing O-ring on the 1/2 inch threads, check it!
Would Not RecommendMy valve uses the 1/2 inch threaded solenoid. When I installed this new solenoid it spewed water like crazy from the threads. Inspection revealed the O-ring on the solenoid was missing. It would not seat, even with a hard torque. This solenoid is designed for (groove) and MUST have an O-ring on the 1/2 inch threads to prevent leakage. The 3/4 adapter DID have an O-ring. But of course the 3/4 thread O-ring is too big for the 1/2 threads. Not an isolated case, the 1/2 inch thread solenoid O-ring i...
Worked, but too loud to keep
Would Not RecommendThis worked functionally, but it buzzed way too loudly when active. You could here it in the ground well with the cover on when active. I had just bought another one of these a couple of days earlier and it worked and also "hummed" when active (more than my other Hunter brand valve solenoids), but it wasn't nearly as loud as the second one. I had to return it even though it functioned because it was just to loud -- you could here from 15 feet away on the sidewalk in front of my house.
Easy installation
Would RecommendI have a recommendation however, the solenoid should come with a new O ring! It’s ridiculous that there is not an O ring on the part, one has to take an old one off, which in my case was over 10years old! Otherwise water water everywhere.

Quality part at a good price
Would RecommendI spent three hours digging through tree roots just to access a sprinkler valve. Why the original company who installed the sprinkler system wouldn’t have installed an access tube and cover is beyond me. This part was an exact replacement part and performed as it should. It’s nice to have a store to go to where they have what you need, when you need it and won’t charge the life out of you

Stop gap for Weathermatic? Only Temporarily.
Would Not RecommendBought due to inabilty to source weathermatic S20P solenoid. It fits in order to run the system, and works on 24V, but I needed to open the bypass release. Since it is for the main, it was ok temporarily. For anyone that thinks it is working, it's probably because they have the bypass release open unknowingly, so that system is not actually functioning properly, that's my best guess. If you have the weathermatic S20P, you'll need to order that or the replacement, I have heard the M24E superce...

great sprinkler solenoid
Would RecommendI had a sprinkler valve that would not come on, so I tested the solenoid and found it wasn't working. Went to Lowes and got an orbit replacement solenoid and just screwed it on the valve and connected the wires, works perfectly. I would recommend this product for an easy fix for the diy guy who wants to save some money.

What I needed in a pinch
Would RecommendMy sprinkler system isn't Orbit. However, I needed the correct voltage and this is what Lowe's had. Still works perfectly!

Replacement silonoid orbit
Would RecommendI have a sprinkler system that was put in 20 years ago. This fixed the zone so I didn't have to replace it.
