REPLACES S/S PLUNGER TYPE
Would RecommendHave the 20 yr. old Orbit valves with the S/S solenoid plungers, some have said this one will not work. but it does. Don't need the adapter that comes with it, just screw it in and connect the 2 wires...Actually opens and closes the water line quieter than org. ones..

Would RecommendThe solenoid delivered does not match the picture on the site. At first glance, this solenoid will not work with older WaterMaster type sprinkler valves due the plunger length not being long enough. After reading various reviews of this part on many sites, i found that there is an o-ring where the solenoid seats that needs to be removed. Once this o-ring is removed, the solenoid seats and operates properly. Only giving 4 stars because the picture does not matxh the product shipped.

Would Not RecommendThis has been reported by others for two years now! The solenoid on the shelf looked like model 57226 not like the picture for model 57041. Maybe Lowes should look into this and not Orbit.

Would RecommendRegardless of what some of the reviews are saying, the new version of this solenoid DOES replace the old metal stem version, which is pictured. I have an old Irritrol valve for my pool that used the old metal stem version pictured. The new replacement solenoid is shorter and has a black plastic tipped stem......AND WORKS FINE. Direct replacement. It does come with an adapter, just like the old one, for other valves.
