Why no instructions or number to call

I need instructions w this thing and non came with it. One person in the reviews referred to instructions so someone has some but non of these items at Lowe’s came with any. With this design, water could stand at the bottom and breed mosquitoes so some people said they drilled holes at the bottom.

drill holes in the bottom??

I thought the idea was to move water away, not leak it into the ground below the catch basin. Why not put the connection ports all the way to the bottom? Terrible design. Since the drain pipe is 4" wide there is no scence in a large basin. I going to return the one I purchased and his use a different receptical.

Leaks faster than it can catch

This is a seriously flawed catch basin. The flange attachment to the bucket leaves large gaps when installed. I tested it before I buried it by pointing a garden hose sprayer into the bucket. The bucket started filling, and immediately leaking out of those 8 square openings at the flanges. It leaked so badly that I couldn't get the level of the water to reach the outlet - it was leaking out of the flanges faster than I could fill it. Now I'll admit that when buried the soil would help to seal up...

This is an addition to previous catch basins I have attached to gutter downspouts. The other basins, purchased at Lowe's, have been in use for over ten years and have worked great. The one additional comment I have is that being able to go on-line and find the exact row and bin number where an item is located makes shopping a lot easier.

My basement contractor recommended this for my rough in garage floor drain. This is heavy duty and has a removable grill. I highly recommend this product.

They are strong and work great

Would Recommend

Buried at ground level, they catch rain runoff and also provide a clean out access to the drain pipe

Not Watertight

Would Not Recommend

Bought this to address a low spot in my backyard to redirect water around my house (heavy clay soil). The adapters seem undersized for the holes and therefore are not watertight. Tested the install before covering and ended up with more water in the hole than in the basin/pipe. NDS says this is “soil” tight in fine print. Might work well in permeable soil but I’d avoid this product in dense soil. Went with a series of 6in. basins which do not have the adapters and are watertight.

Side connections do not engage fully

Would Not Recommend

The slotted pipe connections wound not Engage the precut opening due to apparent tolerance issues. I have to use cauking to seal the gaps.

Very nice looking Catch Basin

Would Recommend

This was very easy to install and comes with an adapter for either 3 or 4 inch connection. My only concern is that the discharge outlet is rather high, allowing quite a bit of water to collect in the bottom for the potential for mosquitoes.

Look for another manufacture

This basin has a lot of flaws. 1) the pipe connectors are poor quality and leak heavily. You can try to seal them with silicon which is expensive $6 a tube and doesn't last forever. Plus you purchased a drain basin; it should work. 2) the pipe holes are the same height which doesn't direct the flow properly. 3) it doesn't come with the extension (and Lowe's doesn't sell it) to allow installing deeper in the ground to provide adequate slope. If you feel like you have to buy an basin by the 6 in...

Inferior design causes leakage, standing water

Would Not Recommend

I used this to catch water from my downspout. It has two pass-through holes. I plugged one...or tried to. It is not a tight enough fit as there are large holes around the edge of the plug. I thought I had crammed enough silicone into those holes, but it still leaks. And the basin has to collect 2" of water before it gets high enough to get to the hole to drain out. Who wants 2" of water sitting in the basin until it eventually evaporates? Mosquito haven.
