Nope. Don't like it one bit.

This stuff was terrible to work with. Completely ruined my wood shiplap, had to sand it off and start over with the usual 2-step stain and then clear coat.

I found this produce very hard to work with, perhaps because of the combination of stain and poly -- streaky colors and gummy application. Using steel wool between coats, (as directed) is a mistake, even after 7 hours of drying time as it sticks to some parts of the finish that were apparently not fully cured. I wish I'd stayed with the traditional two step strain and finish process.

I bought this to refinish a jewelry box. I needed to match the high gloss shine and stain to match the existing veneer. This worked well and only needed one coat.

Impossible to achieve even color

I’ve been restoring antique furniture, woodworking etc for 35+ years. I’ve always used the “old school” stain-on-rag technique, then poly or appropriate topcoat if desired. So I thought I would give this a try. Although the color is very beautiful, even with a high-end brush, attempted “thin coats” without streaking or significant color differential/buildup was nearly impossible. I applied this in ideal temperatures of 75 or 80°F at extremely low humidity in a climate controlled garage. Product ...

Darker than stain alone. Added finish saves time.

For certain applications this combination of stain and protection is appropriate. This product did that well in both areas. Good coverage of darker and deeper stain without needing to wipe off and then applying finish.

Avoid this product!

I have been refinishing oak and mahogany furniture for years, using stain then varnish. I had an inexpensive shelf to use as a printer table and decided to short cut the process….. if you want an inexpensive piece to look cheap, this is your product to use… other wise avoid it…. It is tough to apply, cannot be rebrushed and looks gloppy…. I am sorry that I used it for two uneven coats for shelf is not worth stripping to redo it…
