Not for me

This color just makes the wood look wet then it dries and looks the same as before i started. Probably just wasn’t the right color for the wood we used but it’s happened twice on different boards.

An excellent product for the intended purpose.

Lays down well and flows out to a nice even finish. However, I actually prefer the water based version and bought this by mistake.

Disappointed Longtime Minwax User

I've used Minwax products for years and typically stain wood surfaces followed by a separate polyurethane finish with great results. This time, I tried their combined stain-and-poly product on a door, and it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. I prepped the surface thoroughly—orbital sanding, clean wipe-down, everything by the book. But the application was extremely difficult. Beautiful jobs completed

I can’t tell  you when I bought my Minwax Polyshade, there’s always some left in the can from a previous use, it’s the only product I use!  It always goes on smooth and cleans up nicely and the furniture looks beautiful!

Horrible

This stuff is garbage. It takes forever to dry, is streaky, and needs way too many coats to achieve the desired color. It come out oily and obviously no stain is going to go on the wood very dark in that case. It will ruin your project. It was a good idea in theory but Minwax should have never put this on the market after testing it. They just wanted to make a buck. I will no longer support a brand that I can’t trust to put good products on the market. Minwax has lost a customer.

Too hard to keep an even finish. It gels very fast. Project came out good, but not sure i.would buy again. Regular stain and poly way easier imo
