Okay product

This is a great product but love the look of satin better than the gloss.

Molasses and honey….

I’ve never stained before but had some deck boards needing a refresh. Tried this and it was very sticky, very messy, and it went on like molasses and honey. The color was nice and I like the sheen. I’m very okay with the staining job I did. Only needed one coat. Used a good deck paintbrush. This is a great brand and good quality, just not what I expected for stain.

Review Polyshade After using PolyShades all in one my choice is to strip the oak table and chairs again or trash them PolyShades was blotchy and uneven. One step color + poly with a wide shade selection

I needed to match some very old oak flooring. I tried several stains and could not get it just right, the polyshades Pecan gave just enough amber to match the existing flooring, and because it is a one step process (stain and poly in one) I was done quickly. Once the finiah was cured I bugged the sheen down to match the existing flooring and the project was done.

Impossible to achieve even color

I’ve been restoring antique furniture, woodworking etc for 35+ years. I’ve always used the “old school” stain-on-rag technique, then poly or appropriate topcoat if desired. So I thought I would give this a try. I've used Minwax products for years and typically stain wood surfaces followed by a separate polyurethane finish with great results. This time, I tried their combined stain-and-poly product on a door, and it was a frustrating experience from start to finish. Disaster

I've seen this product out there for years, there is often nothing else to buy. I got it to match some area of floor but then read it's not for use with floors. I have a rack which I needed to finish, didn't care about the color., so I thought I'd use it. I normally use Minwax clear polyurethane. This stuff is very hard to use as every drip and brush stroke shows up very dark whereas thin areas are light. . You can't wipe it off, you have to keep brushing. Beautiful, looks great on my hardwoods. I cannot stress enough to make sure you stir before and during your staining process. Don’t be like me and have to stain again because you waited too long and it settled giving you two different colors 🤦🏼‍♀️
