Cant stop the flow!!

Bought this timer and followed the set up instructions, easy enough. I hook it up and turn it on and water just flows out of all 4 zones. It just doesn't stop, manual or timer mode. Nothing seemed to stop the water from coming out other then turning off the faucet itself. Very disappointed, I really needed this thing to work.

Good Product

I purchased this product and it works as advertised. I had to figure out to adjust some of the gates which was a pain but after that it was fine. The programming of on/off times, zones, and watering times was easy.

Melnor 4 way timer

I purchased 3 of these about 1 year ago when we renovated our yard. I, like many others, thought it didn't work when I first plugged it up because the valves were leaking, but once reading the manual on how to close the valves they worked like a charm! I, for some reason, thought it would be okay to leave one out during the winter. Don't do that. :) The one that I left attached through winter leaked when I plugged it up this year, the two that I stored away work fine. They have a 7 year limited...

Great for our big yard

This unit allows control of four separate zones, for a fraction more money than a single zone controller. Easy to program. Working great so far.

Digital timer working good

So far, I'm happy with this new timer. I had the Orbit timer before and is developed an internal leak. I contacted Orbit and they wanted to know what the water pressure was, type of hose/sprinkler ... For the price, this unit has been working good. I like that the valve system is external to the timer unit.

Won't stay on.

Won't work after one season of use. Pretty pathetic, new batteries, set the time, and as I'm positioning it, it will short out and reset.

4 Hose Sprinkler Timer

Initially I had a very positive experience with this timer. After using it several instances over a two month period, I could not set the timer as moisture got into the screen. I had to return it but I did repurchase another one. I covered the 2nd one with a plastic bag. I am now in the process of monitoring it to see how it will continue to work.

Great product, even better support!

We purchased two of these at Lowe's, and I have to say that these work very well. They're fairly easy to program (to me, anyway), and they have consistently worked every time. Having four outlets allows us the flexibility to set up a "poor man's sprinkler system." When we disconnected them from the faucets for the winter, we also removed the batteries from the control unit. While we did this, one of the springs inside the battery cartridges broke off. This unit lasted less then 6months then it would not open any of the zones. even in manual mode I replaced the battery but still does not open the zones very disappointing.

So far so good

I have been using this timer on a schedule for the past 3-4 days. The setup was easy, including the piece about the valves being disturbed during shipping. No leaks so far and everything cuts on when it should. So far, it’s been great!

Valves don't work properly

Used two different units with same problem. Vales do not open with timer. Only with manual knob. If you turn the knob all the way to the left the valve sticks and doesn't work properly. When I called customer service with the second product they just recommended that I return it to the store again. I'll see if it works better now that the dial is pointing closer to the manual label. It's time for melnor to redesign this product!

Product in use for 1 week is working fine. Precise timing and control of the sprinkler zones.

Works Great

I installed this timer to water newly sown grass seed for a brief time several times daily, and it has worked out great. Each zone is individually programmable. With or without this device, at our home we cannot run two or more hoses simultaneously due to low water pressure. So each zone is programmed to run consecutively, not all at the same time. Easy to set up following the instructions. It has saved a lot of effort keeping the germinating seed watered. Wish I had bought one a long time ago...

Works great!

This timer works great and does what it says. Setup is not hard and it is very easy to program the different zones and times. Valves may open during shipping from vibration so if you follow the addendum in the instructions you can fix this and not have any problems. IF you can read instructions and have any ability at all to figure things out on your own, you won't be disappointed.

A nice timer

I bought this about one month ago and I have really enjoyed seeing it do the work I don't have time to accomplish. This afternoon I pulled up to my house and it was watering my yard. I recommended this to all my friends. Setup was pretty simple, too.

Perfect solution for a flower bed at our office

I purchased this and 2 other items to make it much easier to help get our office flower beds through the dog days of summer. This way I don't have to stay after work nor do I have to return on weekends just to water a flower bed. I'm going to install a small scale underground system and utilize this timer and 4 short hoses (all hidden from view of the public) to do an even better job of taking care of our flower beds. Now I can spend time with family. Maybe crank up my smoker or grill.

2 months no problems

Bought this timer earlier this summer and i am pleaeed with it. Its very easy to set up, and so far its been very reliable. I bought another after buying the first one because i was so impressed. Only bummer is that it wint recognize rechargeable batteries.
