Great product

Bang for the buck !! Initially, was little sceptical about the product. But it works perfectly fine. I don’t have to worry about watering the lawn.

Appears to ne working!

Easy set up and appears to be working as programmed. Only time will tell.

Almost, but not quite, perfect

I needed a multi-headed time to get my underground sprinkler system to run better. It is a hose-bib system that a buddy of mine help me install in my small backyard. The original Orbit time I had only let you set 2 sessions a day, but you get to pick the start times. The Melnor lets you choose the initial start time and then how often to run it during the day. Junky plastic, breaks easily

I hooked up this unit and had all the usual hassles about stuck valves that the other reviewers have mentioned. After finally getting it to work properly, I hooked up the hoses and sprinklers. However, the very simple act of picking up one of the hoses to move the sprinkler caused the unit to snap off at the hose spigot, rendering it completely and uselessly broken. This is complete junk.

water timer, reg faucet also

Can set the timers, or not set them and use it like regular faucet expander (just have to turn dial to manual to let water out) I like it so far

Seems faulty

I purchased this unit yesterday knowing that there is some issue with valves remaining open while installing. I followed the instruction on how to manually close those valves (I had two stuck open) but seems like nothing is working. I will have to return it and get something that is not so much complicated on the first place!

Easier to program than some others I’ve used

So far so good. I’ll probably buy another for my back yard too.

Just installed and dripping

I've followed the directions and it's all set up. But the connection from the unit to my hose bib is slightly leaking (about 3 drips/second) and I've hand-tightened it as tight as I can. The inner rubber washer on the new unit looks good...no cracks. I think I'll go buy a supplemental washer and add that and see if it stops the dripping. My hose bib threads are in good shape even though my house was built in 1940. I can't have water constantly dripping against my foundation! Anyone have other su...

Very East Setup

I bought 2 of these timing devices after trying my hand at an Orbit timing device that wasn't as easy to setup for my system. The process to get started was very easy. They've been running on queue for 3 weeks without any issues. I did use a quality Teflon tape on the attachments just to make sure the hose connections wouldn't leak on my patio - so far it's worked! Excellent Product

This product works well and is exceptionally easy to use.

Works well

I bought this to run 3 sprinklers and a garden hose. It is really easy to install and program. It works really well for my needs. I am planning on upgrading the sprinkler to an in ground system and I will still use this since it works so well.

Easy, accurate, useful

WE have purchased the 2 and 4 valve versions. We like the 4 valve the best. Being able to detach the timer unit makes programming it so much easier. Also, the ability to control each hose manually is SIMPLE. What more can you ask than ‘Easy, accurate, simple, and useful’. We have bought 3. Will likely buy more.

Nice idea, horrible quality control

I bought one, hooked it up easily enough, then turned on the water, with all of the valves shut. Valve #4 wouldn't close at all. Returned it, got another one. This time, valve #2 would close. Returned this one too. Great idea, but QA needs to improve before I'd leave this unattended, with the water on.

Has a design flaw.

Purchased this item. I liked the timer functions. However, when I attached it to the hose bib and turned on the water, it leaked around the fitting between the brass and the plastic. I returned what I hoped was just a faulty unit and bought another. When I hooked the new one onto the hose bib and turned on the water it leaked worse than the first. I returned the second one and decided to go a different route.

Works great.

The instructions were well written and easy to follow. I recently had sod put in and the water timer made it very easy. It didn’t come on the first day but that may be something I did and not the timer. It was very simple. I also like the feature of turning off the auto function and using in manual mode. It was money well spent.

Absolute Junk

Two of the valves were stuck open when I received the unit. After following all of the workflows to fix the issue on Melnor's website, both valves were still stuck open. I capped then off and used the other two lines for one day before a new set of brand name batteries were drained.

Worked well

Limited the flow a bit more than I wanted but it worked well. Had it for 2-3 weeks before someone stole it off my spicket..

Works Great

Everything about this timer works exactly the way it should. It's user-friendly and the interface is very easy to understand. The only thing I would change about it is making water times a little more lenient and able to adjust per Zone as the user needs.
