What Customers Are Saying
The product has a mixed reception, with some users finding it easy to program and use, allowing for up to 4 watering schedules. However, others experienced issues with the valves getting stuck or not working properly, as well as the timer resetting or malfunctioning after initial use. The quality and durability of the product also seems inconsistent, with some reporting the plastic housing breaking easily.
Customer review summary generated by AI, including incentivized reviews.Easiest timer to use, have had it 4 months
Would RecommendEasy to prepare, setup and functions well. There are 4 zones(hook ups), press the key that has the arrows to the desired function, press zone(s), be sure to set each zone. Takes a few seconds to learn. Lightweight, well priced and durable.
Works great. Good customer service
Would RecommendI bought this and it has done exactly what it is supposed too. One valve failed after 3 years and they sent me an entire one without any hassle. It was even a newer model. A product like this lasts several years. im buying a second one for my backyard.
Thanks for your feed back and support of Melnor Digital Water timers.
Worked 1 time
Would Not RecommendSetup was easy. Followed the instructions for the valve shift during transport. Hooked it up the sprinkler and faucet. It ran the first time and never again. I even hit the electronic manual open and it did let any water out. Turning the mechanical manual open valve worked fine. I did a system reset, set it up again and still it would not open the valves. I heard them try with the click, but no water ( and yes the water was on ). I ended up returning it.
Valve stuck open, even after troubleshooting
I really wanted to like this gizmo! It worked perfectly for two days. Then valve #1 got stuck partially open. I've followed the instructions on the troubleshooting sheet to open and close the valve manually, both through the electronic interface and simply by turning the physical switch. But no matter what I do, water comes out of valve #1. Fortunately I need only three zones, so I've capped valve #1 and I'm just using the other three. But this doesn't give me much confidence that the other thre...
works as designed
After reading the reviews, I decided to get this. Yes there is an update about the valves possibly being open during shipment, but it explains the fix for it and If you can read and take the time to do what it says, you will not have a problem. I like that it has four zones for multiple hoses, but so far have only used one. It starts and shuts off when it is supposed to. The gauge is easily read and I can see it from inside the house. (the window is about 10 feet away from the hose connection). ...
Could not get it to work
Would Not RecommendWe bought this before leaving on vacation to minimize labor, but neither my husband or tech-savvy son could get all the timers to work properly. We returned it.

Water timer
Easy to program and so far it seems to work well. I really like how easy it is to turn a single outlet on manually. There was an insert in the package with a procedure in case some of the valves didn't initially function correctly. I had to perform this on 2 of the outlets, but it was simple and corrected the problem. As this has only been running for a week, i can't speak to the durability.

Works great! READ the instructions and play w/it!
It took me a few times to figure out how to close the valves, but if you read the addendum instruction, it explains exactly what to do. You just need to use it a few times to figure it out. And now that I've used it a few times, I totally understand how to schedule the times and adjust as needed. I would love if it could be set for multiple times a day (not on an interval schedule), but otherwise, it's been fantastic. My raised vegetable garden boxes are very happy!
Unit would not attach to water supply without leaking. Contacted manufacturer who sent a new unit. It leaked also. Will return original to Lowe's for refund.

Works great
Would Recommendworks great and easy to program. make sure to READ the instructions on how to make sure all ports are closed before returning the product. i think this is why you see far too many 1 star reviews.

Melnor manifold
Would RecommendProgramming takes a little but to figure but not difficult to do. Also one valve open after turning on, but it says that in material, so read it. Mine closed after water pressure built up. Mine works.
It works. Good price for what you get.
Would RecommendBought 2 after reading the reviews. The price turns out cheaper than buying a dual valve timer plus splitter, PLUS this option gives me options to expand later. Very easy to get started, just put in 2 AA batteries and follow the instructions to program. Like others have said, sometimes the valves are stuck open when you first use it. Manually running each valve for 1 min closed them all. One of my hose bibs was too close to the wall though, so ended up having to extend it with a in-line valve t...
Convenient device....saves water
Would RecommendWe saw that the product had four outlets that can individually control areas of our yard...just what we have been looking for. The timer was easy to set and it works flawlessly.

Easy to use
I have been using this for about 2 weeks now, the settings are easy to use.I think it literally took about 7 min to set the time, watering zones, and the frequency of watering, and amount of time to water. Have not had any issues of the 2 other zones not in use spewing water for no reason. At this point I am giving it 5 stars. I had a similar one that was 2 zone by a different company, and that only lasted 1 season. Hoping this one will do much better.

Not an improvement over previous years Orbit model
This was the only 4 tap timer carried in my local store this year. I like the manual on/off, and walked it through manual/auto modes to reset each tap. But the program doesn't allow multiple cycles per zone (others allow 3 short cycles instead of one long cycle...less run-off and more even watering this way), and when you run the "Manual" program, it doesn't run through each zone individually, it turns them all on at once! so the water pressure means each zone is useless in this mode, and it ...
Dead in days
Would Not RecommendBought this at Lowes, it was dead within a couole weeks. Very disappointed!
Stuck valve
Would Not RecommendI can't trust one of the valves. It stays open. Water pressure and settings were checked, tech support in Germany contacted. I am returning it today.
Great Product but READ the Manual Addendum
Would RecommendReviewers have been giving this one star because some of the valves are stuck open when they first use it. There is an addendum to the manual that says that some valves may be put in the open position during shipping (vibration I guess). This requires that some valves may need to be manually turned on and then off again before using the timer. I bought 2. The first one had 1 valve open and the second had two valves open. So as instructed, using the controller, I set the valve for each zone ...
Super easy to set
Would RecommendI was worried this was going to be difficult since it has 4 faucets but it just took a little time sitting at my picnic table to get it set up. Been running well keeping the garden watered. No problems, but had to buy the rain detector from another online retailer. That also seems to be working because it rained hard a couple of days ago and hasn't watered since (and hasn't needed to)
Faulty out of packaging
Would Not RecommendTimer 3 failed on install. Water poured out of number 3 with device off during installation. The timer was turned off and water was still running thru number 3 on either manual setting. I can't trust a device if it fails on first use.

Thanks for the positive feedback.
