I did see on other reviews that people had the same problem, but to a greater extent from looking at the pictures they submitted. My contractor noticed a lip on the bottom half of the back panel that the niche panel slides over, thereby making it a little bit more straight than some of the pictures I saw. Great if you are doing a brand new install
Would RecommendWe bought this to replace an existing tub surround. I had to cut out the drywall to install this, but that was expected. What was not expected is that this is impossible to install with existing pipes that protrude into the tub area. I even wrote the manufacturer about this issue and received this response: "We acknowledge your concern. We do not get usually this kind of plumbing question as maax does not do plumbing or install the unit. Unfortunately We could not able to help in this situation....

this product was recommended for easy installation. well, it went in great but don't expect to be able to take a shower with this surround. This design takes up to much space and your arms will touch the sides if you try to wash yourself. Chipped shelf on corner

Love this surround
Would RecommendVery pleased with this surround. Clean, modern and useful with inset for shampoos, lotions. Some of the complaints I read on reviews made me think that installer wasn't very experienced. There is plenty of arm room on tub edge alongside the surround. I love it. My guy did have to remove more drywall than expected, but no big deal. I have a small amount of painting I opted to do around the edges. Hate to put up my new rod and curtain which will cover it up. I don't like glass doors on tubs.
