OK - user interface fair

If you're replacing another LUX thermostat it's an easy install. I replaced an old 5/2 programmable with this 7-d digital and it's a better product. Swing is tightly controllable, programming is not hard but the way they force you through the steps is needlessly tedious.

Works perfect for gas fireplace

We needed a replacement for our gas fireplace insert thermostat that operated in the required millivolt range. This thermostat was highly recommended in a article about gas fireplaces, so we gave it a try. It installed very easily and quickly, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and most importantly it works perfect with the gas fireplace.

The touch screen is awesome, just sensitive enough that if you brush by it , it doesn’t feel it, and you lightly push it, it works great !!

Lux Programmable Thermostat works great

This Lux thermostat is easy to install and easy to program. Installation for me took 5 minutes. Programming maybe 10 minutes. It's nice it has a copy command so that you can duplicate each days temps. It is a good idea to open up the on-line manual as it does a good job in describing the programming and installation.

Easy to install and program

Bought a new furnace and thermostat Honeywell. Thermostat has a sensing your setting preferences built in. About 2 hours before your preferred automatic setting is due to come on; my furnace started and recycling ever 11 minutes including during the programmed time. So for about 4 hours in the morning and also the evening. Not only irritating but gas and electric bill skyrocketed. LUX 7-day touch screen programable thermostat

Easy to install, works as expected, reasonably priced. This unit only lasts about 7yrs +. This is the fourth unit I've purchased. Main reason, this house has an electrical receptacle box installed in wall for original mercury switch thermostat. No other digital thermostat I've looked at on the market will cover the opening in the wall created for the original thermostat. However, I do like the LUX digital unit, even if it has to be installed sideways 90 degrees. Still works.

It's a good digital replacement thermostat

This replaced our old mercury-based thermostat for our heat pump. It is digital and programmable, the 2 key features that I was looking for. The only reason that it doesn't get 5 stars is the contortions necessary to hold a manually selected temperature. Pressing Hold will only hold it for the duration of the current programmed period. The thermostat’s , one I’m using for heat and the other for A/C , were easy to install. Had to use the instruction sheet To set up the program , and it was easy to follow. I have separate units otherwise one thermostat could handle both. lasted exactly 180 days

heat stopped working in house hvac tech came and tested everything from blower to the board. come to find out the thermostat "auto" contact on the board was bad and would only work on the "on" position lasted exactly 180 days

How can this be so highly rated

Temp swing senstivity does not function as in docs (set to .25 degrees swing, still does not start furnace until after 1 degree or more drop). Once furnace comes on, overshoots desired temp by 2 degs. Displayed temperature changes simply in responce to touching the display, which makes manual override ineffective and very frustrating. Putting old Honeywell thermostat back in.

Decent for the price

Seeing as apparently almost every thermostat under $80 doesn't work correctly or breaks, this one is the best of the bunch. It has a nice display with a cool blue backlight that makes a neat, quiet tone whenever the backlight is active (an unintentional design feature that I personally enjoy). The overall design looks nice and modern as well. Terrible thermostat

I bought a house 3 months ago. I have gone through 2 of these thermostats within 3 months! The first one i bought, the screen quit working after 2 weeks. I called the manufacturer and was told they would mail me another one but it would be 2 weeks. I live where it snows frequently and couldn’t go 2 weeks with no heat! Don’t waste your time

This is the second purchase of this item. First one lasted about 18 month then just quit. Screen would not allow any activity. Replaced with same thermostat and it lasted 2 weeks and similar result. Screen would not take any commands. Changed batteries. Reset . Nothing worked so return the new one to Lowe’s. Try a Honeywell now.
