this is a good lock and easy to use. never have to worry about lost keys again!

one less key

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this smartcode lock. One less key I have to carry. I will be buying another one for the cottage. While on vacation it allowed me to give a code to the house setter who was checking the house. I have also given the code to my two children so that they can enter the house in an emergency.

Not as great as the other brand

This one, in 18 months is now in its 3rd set of batteries. Perfection when it works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this product for 8 years. It's the perfect security door access for my home.unless it fails to work. If something goes wrong I'm essentially locked out or unlocked. The company and it's support people are all very helpful and graciously replace the malfunctioning lockset, but in the meantime I feel very vulnerable..

Easy to install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this on the door leading from the garage to the house for a year and love it. It's nice not to worry about having keys out, the keypad lights up in the event the garage light it out and it is super easy to install and program

Problems with lock sticking

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three of these locks. I like the combo code option for easy entry. However, I have had to have two locks replaced already. Locking mechanism gets stuck half locked. I have spent more time on install/fix/reinstall than time saved not having to use a key. And now again I will have to call the company for more parts. I getting great at taking apart and reinstalling them. I should get a job as a locksmith.

pet saver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it is so nice that if we are away from home too long we can call friends or neighbors, give them the access code and they can let our dogs out to do their business, put them back in and be on their way . don't have to plan in advance and give a key or leave a key where someone else could find it. when we get home we just change the access code. have now bought one for my sons house warming gift for those same reasons. he gives it 5 stars too

Faulty spring

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three of these locks in my home and six old ones in boxes in my shop. They last about a year and have to be replaced, because of a small wire spring that breaks.

Weatherproof, exquisite styling, and easy install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was and am impressed with the look, style and ease of installation of this lever handled door lock. It is a step up from my other Kwikset door handles and deadbolts, which I have also been happy with their performance and longevity.

She loves the feature that it can be set to lock when she goes outside and does not worry about her house being locked. I have since bought five more for my house, shop and building. Great Product!

great lockset

Easy code entry and self lock

Electronic failure

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to install and rekey, but after two months the electronic component stopped working and would not let me use a code to enter the house. I did a factory reset, reinstalled, check all settings, and it would not work. I took it back to Home Depot, and got a replacement. I hope this time the electronics last longer- and I don't like that the warranty is only for one year on the part that is most likely to fail. On the other hand, if even I can...

Easy to use

Does not work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product. It did not work. You sent me a replacement. It did not work. You sent me another replacement. Guess what. It doesn't work

does not fit with standard handle to deadbolt dist

Standard door knob or handle to deadbolt distance is 5 and a half inches center to center. The inside handle and controller will not fit. Interferes with the deadbolt. Maybe they should have considered this. Door needs at least maybe 8 inches to make sure you can pull the battery cartridge out.

Usually works great

Very useful, but has a few drawbacks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love using a keypad, rather than hunting for keys all the time. I found two (minor) drawbacks: 1) my hand bumps the "lock" button nearly every time I reach for the handle outside. That button should not be located right above the handle itself. 2) the inside handle falls off about every other month. I tighten the screw, but somehow it keeps loosening.
