Electronics on these tend to be a problem

When they work they are great but half of them have had electronic issues. Most have been covered by warranty and replaced. They simply are not the best quality in the long run.

installation and programming problems

this seemed like a great idea for our rental property. i consider myself fairly handy and have done many projects but i first had difficulty installing the device. i found the instructions to be very very general. i also tried the you tube video for installation and found that much better than the paper instructions. there was one bit of info on the video that conflicted with the paper instructions regarding the wire being fed over or under the door mechanism. one said over, the other said under...

Handle is loose and the lock no longer turns

After using this lock for two years, the handle has become loose and the lock partially turns but won't open. You cannot even manually turn it. We worked with Lowes to try and fix it but it sounds like this is a hardware problem that is common to this product. I will be purchasing a new lock from another manufacturer.

Works great.

Makes it easy To run out and walk the kids to school without having to grab keys, etc. plus, simple enough our son can lock up if we have our hands full.

Better than I ever imagined

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never considered buying an electronic lock but there was one on the house I bought, after using it I realized that I will never use a regular lock again. When it came time to replace a lock I purchased another one just like the one I already had. I would highly recommend this lock to anyone who has never had an electronic lock, you will be happy you tried it.

DEPENDABLE

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I HAVE 2 OF THESE LOCKS FOR OVER 1 YEAR. The batteries are still good. I set up the first one with no problem but needed help with the second. The phone help I received was excellent. He was patient and stayed with me until we corrected my mistake. It is a handy lock as my son and granddaughters don't all need keys.

Reliable, Easy, Auto Lock feature & blinking light

I like the 30 second auto locking feature (after it has been unlocked, It locks itself after 30 seconds). The light up keypad has been helpful in a dark garage. The tiny blinking light gives assurance that it is locked.

Obnoxious Product

This lock has been a pain in our side since we purchased it. We are on our third version of the lock because the first two both malfunctioned and Kwik sent us new ones. The one we currently use does not function properly either. The concept of this is great, and I love the idea behind the technology. It just seems that this product has yet to be perfected. I never lose my key

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After buying a car with keyless ignition I found it annoying to have to dig in my pocket for my house key. This SmartCode Lever was the answer. The lever handle is easy to work since I have rheumatoid arthritis. My hand strength isn't what it once was.It is also very attractive.

Never get locked out again

So far so good

It's so great not to have to fumble through my purse to find my house keys when I get home or worry about locking myself out. I can't speak to how secure it is...I have it on the entry door inside my garage, so no one has ever tampered with it.
