Love the idea of not needing a key in on me

Great idea!!! No key to need or loose and if I need/want to change the code for entry it is so simple. I LOVE this lock!!!!

Better than the other major brand at Lowes

Originally Bought a different brand, three different times. we live in an older home. With the other brand, if your door is not perfectly square, the lock will not function...at all. The troubleshooting says to adjust your door jamb...seriously!? This Kwikset lock is more forgiving for an out of square, not plumb, older home. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it didn't come with batteries. This one was also much easier to install and seemed to be made in a sturdier way.

Great Look , Easy to use

We purchased a few different Kwikset - Smart code locks in the last few years. As new models came out we would buy another one to update the locks in our home. They remain timeless and effective. You would be hard pressed to tell which lock was the newest. They are simple to install. My wife installed the last one while I was at work. Waste of a Saturday afternoon

I have always had Kwikset locks in my houses and never had any issues until now. After 3 trips to Lowes (and 1 still to go) and 2 calls to Kwikset, I have my old lock set back in the door. No where in the instructions or the box does it say that the door handle will always move regardless of whether the door is locked or not and furthermore, if you're inside, the door opens, even when it is locked and if you go outside, guess what, it locks behind you. Functions as it should .. so far

I'm always reluctant to give a product a glowing review before it has been in service long enough to know how it will last. So far, so good. It was easy to install, the quality feels good and the operation is very simple. As with any electronic mechanism, time will tell.

Fantastic Lock and handle

I installed this lock over 6 months ago and it has preformed really great. First of all I am a DIY type of person and I was amazed at the quality of both the product and the Installation. Great product!

Easy to install. I have this on my bedroom door. It's a quick, easy way to secure the room.

My wife has Parkinson's and has trouble getting to the door. Family and close friends have a code to enter. My wife has a medical alert button and we gave the code to responders and they can enter without looking for a key or breaking a window. This feature would be a great advantage to a handicapped person. It is also very easy to change the code.

Never worry about needing a key!

We have used this handle set on our garage to house door. So many times having the electronic entry saved the day when I entered the garage from the back yard, no key in my pocket. Never a worry though because entry is just a few numbers away!

Mixed feelings

We had so many days below zero this February (2015) that my Kwikset door handle broke, so I replaced it with the new Kwikset keypad door handle. It's great not to worry about a key, but the keypad sometimes beeps and flashes red when the code is correct. I always get in, but I get a little frustrated and nervous when the code is entered, I get the "incorrect code" beep, the pad lights up red, but the door unlocks anyway.

Great Features

I brought this 1year and 1/2 ago and extremely happy. The product have a strong build quality and use so much less of battery. I haven't have to change my battery since I brought it. It is so convenience I don't have to bring a key with me. Don't have to search for the key anymore. Strongly recommend for anyone that want to make life a little bit easy.

Like not using a key but the lock is faulty

I have it programmed to lock automatically. Every time it is supposed to lock it does not and keeps beeping. I have to lock it manually. It was disappointing because this is the second one I have since I returned the first and it keeps doing the same thing. I like Kwikset but they really need to work on fixing the locking mechanism. As for the code part, I love it and it works great.

I bought this for my front door; wish I had it when I was working nights. No fumbling for keys! Easy to install and lights alert, from the inside, so you know if the door is locked or not without having to go over and check it.

Fabulous lock

I bought this for my tack room, what a fabulous find. No need to hunt for the key and it can be set to automatically lock after a few minutes. No worries if I thought I forgot to re-lock up.

What took me so long...

I've had this SmartCode Lever for a year now. It has solved all our problems with convenience and locked doors. I have it set to automatically lock after a minute so we never have to worry if the entry door to the garage is locked. No more keys to worry about either. When we have guests staying with us a separate code lets them come & go as they please. I don't believe that it took me so long to replace the old style lock and key entry lever with this SmartCode Lever. It's been in use a year now...

Works great!

Seems to be well built and works well. Our only complaints are the battery life and since it is installed below our existing deadbolt, the deadbolt has to be removed to allow the battery pack to slide up and out every time the batteries need changed.

Best Lock Ever

I bought this lock because my kids would lose their key all the time. It's a good feeling knowing my kids can now get in the house and are safe and sound.Thanks

911 Smartcode Lever

I purchased this lock set a couple months ago...the installation was a breeze and the operation of the lock is flawless....didn't need to drill any new holes in the door.
