Works ok on small pieces, but long cuts it leaves a very irregular score and no matter how carefully I prepped, scored and snapped I never got clean cuts. Borrowed my father's (at least 30 years old) to see if it was me or the tool, and got clean long snaps over and over. Junk tool, cost me two salvaged mirrors.

Terrible tool
Would Not RecommendI saw the ratings on this but thought, how bad can it really be? Well, I found out. First cut I should have known better to try the 2nd. I have cut plenty of glass over the years. This tool cost me a piece of antique glass. It is difficult to handle, does not have a traditional ball end, and performs and extremely poor score line. Extremely disappointing that this is still on the shelves. I will be returning this on principle.

Poor Design
Would Not RecommendThe tool has to be almost vertical to get the cutter to make contact with the glass. It is difficult to apply appropriate cutting pressure. It works but with a significantly flawed design..

Easy to use
Would RecommendReading the previous reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this glass cutter. But as it was the only one in stock, I bought it. I'm a Handyman, and my previous experience with my Father's old cutter was not good. So I was very pleasantly surprise at how well this cutter worked. Just like to instructions said, after one a firm pass with the cutter, grasp the glass and twist. It snapped cleanly and with minimal effort. Try it, you'll like it...

I followed instructions
Would Not RecommendI needed to cut a precut mirror to a smaller size for a project. I cleaned the mirror using rubbing alcohol and then put kerosen on the surface to be cut and dipped the cutting wheel into it for lubrication. I used a metal level as my cutting guide and with the tool at a 90 degree angle to the surface of the mirror pressed down with moderate pressure and did a single pass across the surface. Then I flipped the mirror and placed a slight pressure on where the score should be and the mirror brok...
This is great!
Would RecommendI bought this despite the bad reviews. I went along the lines of Kobalt? How can they make a bad tool. Everyone that is buying and actually reviewing this must not be reading the directions. As another reviewer said. RED THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT COME WITH THE TOOL! It actually says to lubricate the tool with kerosene before cutting! I happen to have kerosene for my shed heater so I just used that. This tool is fantastic and cheap! I just ran it along my straight edge and heard that familiar sound...

Kobalt glass cutter
Would Not RecommendIt seems 5 cutting blades are better than one but not in this case. The screw that holds the 5 blade wheel is not up to the task. The actual blade is not set evenly in the business end of this tool therefore close attention must be paid to which side of the tool goes against the blade guile(straight edge) or your cuts will be an 1/8 off. Having to press straight down on the handle while at a 90 degree angle(verticle) to the glass does not lend to accuracy. Through in the fact that you can feel t...
Bad glass cutter
Would Not RecommendI have cut glass many times before but lost my cutter. Saw this one and decided to give it a try. The cutting wheel wouldn’t ever score the glass just like the glass was tougher then the cutting wheel. Don’t waste your money on this one.
Worst glass cutter EVER
Complete garbage. Won't cut an evenly deep line no matter how much pressure you put on it. Should have read the reviews before I bought it.
No blades
Glass cutter did not come with the 6 blades. Worthless.
Poor design
Would Not RecommendDifficult to grip. Impossible to see cutting wheel to a good line when cutting. Those points together make it useless and impossible to make a good score in the glass. There are several additional cutting wheels, but they are all the same and equally useless.
Problem with rotating head
Would Not Recommendthe idea of multiple cutters may seem like a good idea. However, I had to use lock tight to hold the head in place because the entire head would rotate causing skips in the cut. The individual cutters work fine, as long as the head they are attached to does not move while cutting. Stick with the original single wheel cutter.
WHAT A DISAPOINTMENT!
Would Not RecommendI normally like Kobalt Tools but this is a big piece of junk! I tried to cut a 1/8" glass mirrored tile and it was a complete failure! Luckily I used an old tile so I didn't waste a good one. I tried several times and it just didn't work. I made several adjustments and nothing worked. I finally just threw it in the trash can.
Had better results from competition's $2 version
Would Not RecommendI might be an almost novice at cutting glass, but I've done it before with my $2 single blade version (just couldn't find it in the garage so I bought this one to replace it). Only two of the six blades made any impression on the glass, and none of them rotated completely as they should. I ended up with missed areas and no perfect cuts.
Worst Tool Ever
Would Not RecommendI bought this from Lowe's trying to cut straight lines for a glass table top but the mission failed miserably. The blade, if you call that a blade, is so dull, and you have to put lot of extra pressure against it in order to score the glass. I end up with a curved cut while applying excessive pressure and that ruined my glass. Don't know why this is the only options from Lowe's as glass cutter. You might be OK if you are a professional and dealing with a thing glass, but this is definitely the w...
Not a better mouse trap!!
Would Not RecommendI had reservations when I saw it. Apparently final cost is more important than good results. The New design is obviously cheaper to produce; no other explanation for redesign. I dug out my 25 year old cutter and had better results. Don't waste your money...
Worked ok
Would Not RecommendBefore you cut make sure the exposed wheel is free to rotate. Two of the wheels on the cutter I purchased did not turn and would have ruined the work. Honestly I would recommend a higher quality cutter, especially if you have lots to cut or have never cut glass before. However it works for a couple quick cuts in a pinch and can't argue with the price. Would have given 4 stars if all the wheels turned.
Kobalt Glass Cutter
Would RecommendI purchased this so I could replace the glass in an antique Weston voltmeter. Since I have never cut glass before I purchased 2 10"x12" sheets of glass to practice on. The meter glass is curved, so I cut one pane of glass into thirds and began trying to cut the curved shape. After failing on all three practice panes, I ordered a Carbide Tungsten cutter from Amazon. If you are just cutting in straight lines in thin glass this cutter will probably work OK for you. Attempting curves, not so mu...
Worst tool I've ever purchased...period.
Would Not RecommendBought this to cut some 1/8" glass. The tool has several blades but none of them cut better than a piece of spaghetti. I ended up cutting the glass with a tile cutter which worked infinitely better than this "tool". Blades are far too lightweight and the blade clearance from the tool is totally inadequate. Unable to serve any other purpose other than a paperweight, I threw it in the trash with the other garbage one hour after I wasted $4 purchasing it.
