Worth The Cost, Works Above Its Class

This is way more powerful than I expected it to be for a battery powered trimmer and edger. The edging works pretty well but the place we moved to had some seriously overgrown sidewalks. This got 95% of it done in one pass. I went back to the stubborn areas a second time and it cut right through.

I used this edger/trimmer on my yard which covers 3/4 of an acre, most of which is fenced and has several structures and a pool that require edging and trimming. I normally split my mowing effort into two days, one day for the front yard and one day for the back. I have to start this review by saying the instruction manual is AWFUL. The illustrations are so tiny, they're almost impossible to see. There are also no instructions at all for using the plastic blades, as in, how to use them or why, or how to install them. If you don't already know that they are for heavier grass and brush, you might be led to believe they are for edging, and that's not what they are for. powerful just like my electric .80 black in decker

just bought great better then the bumping type that jams up. the spool stays clean. battery lasts over 30 min. edger works great even cleans the weeds on cement hangs nice .I tried a round .80 line on it and it works but can't wind too much on

Absolutely love this edger! I have other Kobalt battery operated tools and they never disappoint! This is such a convenient, easy to use edger! Threading the cord is easy to do. There’s a button (circled in picture) to get it back on track… you can’t do that by tapping it on the ground but it’s a minor issue and probably saves the parts from additional damage. Easy to set up an easy to use. The unit works perfectly, so far using g on a thick weed area that it cuts through with no problem.
