This is a solid pick if you are in the market for a battery-operated lawn tool. The 48V MAX is quiet and easy to use. You can use the batteries from other 24V systems that Kobalt has. The universal shaft allows for you to attach any universal head. The batteries charge using a USB-C charger.

Overall this is a great trimmer. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could, but it is not perfect, so I reserve 5 stars for perfect products. 48v interchangeable head trimmer

This 48v Kobalt attachment compatible string trimmer is lightweight due to its use of two 24v batteries instead of a single bulky 48v. It came packed nicely with a charger, two batteries, extra charger cord as the 110 plug allows for cell phone charging at the same plug. The trimmer was easy to assemble, as the head snaps in place and the adjustable handle just hand screws to attach. Looking forward to buying more heads to do more jobs in my yard. This trimmer has plenty of power.

Great Powerful Trimmer

I really like the new 48v line, because I already have the 24 v batteries from other tools I get the added power and do not need to buy different batteries. This tool has plenty of power and lasts a reasonable amount of time on the charge. Good Value Trimmer

This trimmer is a good value, and is reasonably good build quality. Its length is perfect ergonomically for the task. Trimmers that are too short can be awkward to use. The batteries had more than enough charge to trim my entire 1/4 acre lot. It even came loaded with trimmer line. However I am taking away 1 star for power/torque. I am completely impressed with the Kobalt 48V String Trimmer. First of all, the trimmer was very easy to assemble and even came with string pre-loaded on the spindle. I really appreciate. I would suggest however that the first thing you do when opening the box is start charging both batteries. Excellent String Trimmer

Everything you need, except a phillps screwdriver, is in the box. The string trimmer is easy to assemble and to use, just follow the directions in the literature. The trimmer is lightweight and does a good job. The trimmer is also compatible with other attachments that Lowe's offers. I used it to cut down some grass and English ivory that was growing outside of the yard. This an excellent product and I highly recommend it.

Huge bang for your buck.

This is a serious string trimmer with every feature you could ask for. The dual bump head with easy reload is a welcome feature coming from another brand that requires proprietary cartridges. It's nice to be able to use thicker gauges of string so I don't have to re-feed every time I hit a landscaping stone or foundation of the house. This is the future of landscaping tools, I also have the Kobalt Battery operated mower and I gotta say these 2 tools together are so much batter that doing it the old way with all the extension cords and gas and everything, super powerful compared to even the higher horsepower stuff out these, and all withoutr all that annoying noise traditionally associated with landscaping tools.

This 48v Kobalt weedeater is freaking awesome. It is easy to use and has 2 speeds. No need to worry if your weedeater is going to start or not. Wow… I love it … I’ve been using it for an hour and I haven’t needed to re charge it yet. A+++ Kobalt

Upgrades and Happy

I needed a new weed eater and exited for this Kobalt. This was easy to put together. The device is lightweight. Takes two batteries to operate. Easy to replace the weed eater.

Awesome

Wasn't hard to put together. Works great, didn't take long to trim around my house. It is a lot better than a gas weed eater, don't have to crank it r add fuel. Battery still have power left to it.

Easy to assemble / Nice Balance

The trimmer was easy to assemble and it comes with a 65 watt charger so you can charge both batteries at the same time. The charging time was quick, under an hour. The trimmer has a good balanced feel when the batteries are in, but it was on the slightly heavy side. The bump line feed worked very well. I had no trouble trimming weeds and grass. it run very quiet.

This is an awesome trimmer. The exchangeable base is pretty neat. It’s effective and was easy to put together. It came with all you need including batteries. We have other products in the same line so we added the plugged in charger to show the difference.

Replaced my 40volt. This is definitely better built and better quality
