Great idea, quality control problem

Just purchased and returned this product before leaving the parking lot. My guess is the flaw is in the USB connecter. It does not feel like it is making snug contact. If the connecter is held in the right position (that is, applying a little pressure to try to maintain contact with the phone's contacts), then I could get a picture of good quality briefly. Then it would exit app. Tried another unit in the store with the same result.

The software is terrible

I bought this for a specific job and have been wholly unimpressed with the android software to run the camera. I run a properly updated and patched latest Android 13 and the camera controller application crashes repeatedly. It will not stay running for longer than 120 seconds. The app will close, then reopens, then repeats. It's terrible. Do not buy.

It was great for the 2 uses I got out of it

Great borescope for the price.

Using this scope to look at backplane connections on one of our core routers. Image quality is top-notch, adjustable light comes in handy for dark areas but I cannot view the mp4 video files created by the app. I am using V 2.8.15 of the Klein Scope ET16 app with a Samsung S20 FE running Android 12 and no issues. I will try to load the video files into another app to see if they can be viewed.

Works great for the job

Bought this a year ago not really needing it but just used it today (10/21/2022) scoping out floor joists above the dry wall and it worked great, did exactly what was needed. When I first got it and hooked it up to my phone, I had a Samsung A71 (got 2019 sometime) and it worked great. It's a darn shame I gotta give them one star

The horoscope requires a app from Google however every phone ive tried isn't compatible. If the app does download it's just a snake light the camera doesn't work at all . Why hasn't klien tools recalled these darn things?

Blurry

Used this product once and now the picture is blurry ☹️ just purchased in February 2022

Found fix for blank screen.

I just received the ET16 I bought. Had to override Google warning of unrecognized app, but then it downloaded with no issue. My android phone prompted me to allow app to access my phone but it said the access failed. I tried reboots, deleting and reloading app, plugging and unplugging usb connector---all to no avail. The skinny Snake

After a lil tech-tutorial I was able to get the snakes app downloaded ok n my Samsung cell.Its the friendliest Snake I've ever encountered.

Works Great!

I actually got this ET16 unit about a month back and just got it out and tried it. It works GREAT! Picture is crystal clear and color is spot on. The APP loaded easy and is on my phone within instant access. Plug it in and it's on. Great addition to my tools and VERY AFFORDABLE.

I got something and now I can’t download this on my Apple phone

Difficult to use

Hard to hold scope with one hand and cellphone with plugin on the other. It's too cumbersome. You would need two people to operate properly. Great picture quality.

Doesn't work

I bought this with high hopes and after the roundabout way you have to get the app installed the camera just won't connect properly and work. All I've got is a neat little flashlight extension but no picture.

Absolutely disgusting

I just bought the borescope tonight was pretty psyched about it just trying to find the download app was ridiculous and guess what it doesn't work it accesses some camera it wants to and the light gets brighter and darker but I didn't spend this money to have a LED light on a 10 ft extension I was hoping to see what the light was looking at what a piece of junk Klein don't put product out until it's ready please. What was the hurry to put a piece of crap out.

Not working for me

Just purchased this today. To my dismay it isn't working. Light comes on but camera is not connecting for some reason. I usually trust Klien products but this was a disappointment. Hopefully I can find a fix.

An expensive light up paperweight

Bought this thinking " wow I really needed this, and at least it's made by klein and not some cheap piece of crap." And then it turned out to be some cheap piece of crap. And oh lucky me I have no idea where my receipt is because once again I figured it's made by klein I won't need to return it. Can't even get the app to download

USB-C Connecting Wire Ridiculously Short

There are two major problems with this device as currently designed. The first is the USB-C connecting wire is so short it significantly impedes the use of this scope. You cannot set your phone down and then manipulate the camera with out knocking your phone about and often disconnecting the scope. A three or four foot cord would have solved this problem.
