Disappointed.

I got my (KSM150PSSM) 5 QT, ARTISAN stand mixer for last Christmas (2018). I had been resisting getting one for years on the idea that all my family's bread recipes had been done manually and I figured if it was good enough for them, it's good enough for me. I cannot get this flimsy piece of plastic to stay on the bowl. Kitchenaid should redesign this useless shield and at least provide 6 or 8 of these tabs (and longer) to keep from falling off and making a mess. Those tabs are so small that they are useless! The radius of curvature is also smaller than the pan so makes it doubly hard to stay on. True bad feature on an otherwise fine mixer (6 Qt. Model).

Dissappointed

I bought the Artisan mixer and it came with the pouring shield. Does not fit the bowl! Very poor design. Please, don't waste your money!

Love the mixer, but the pouring shield is useless, I’m afraid - why can’t it be made to snap snugly onto the bowl? It’s a big piece of plastic that takes up space and will never be used, as I need three hands - one to pour, two to steady the shield.

5 qt mixer shield. Can I give it a zero?

It serves no purpose. The flour comes out between the bowl and the shield. It doesn't fit snug enough to stop anything. It came with my mixer. I don't suggest anyone buying one. I have friends with older mixers and shields. The old shields work great. This seems cheaper and poorly designed.

Poorly designed

I got this awhile back as a Christmas gift from my daughter. Love the mixer, but really dislike the pouring shield. It doesn't fit properly, moves around, and there is a big gap in part of it that allows stuff to fly out of that area, even if you are lucky enough to get the rest of it to stay in place long enough to do anything. I thought I was just doing something wrong, hubby said it’s warped. I am kinda relieved to find out it not us. But then kinda PO’ed that it doesn’t work as intended. I got mine with mixer and glad I didn’t shell out the $30.

The1-Piece Pouring shield doesn't fit my 5Qt. bowl

Dec. 31, 2018. I bought a Diamond blender and an Artisan stand mixer for Xmas. The mixer came with a 4.8 L pouring shield. The shield is very poorly designed and very poorly manufactured. It doesn't fit in the bowl. It looks like if it had been designed for a smaller bowl. It has a big gap between the rim of the bowl and the shield, all around half of the bowl. That makes the flour and batter splatter all over. It is crooked and It doesn't lie flat in the bowl. That makes it fell down into or...

Can't even use it

I received my Artisan KitchenAid as a birthday gift from my grandma a couple years ago, but I've never been able to use the pouring shield that came with it. It's really flimsy, and doesn't want to fit properly. It falls off before I even have the chance to turn my mixer on! A BIG THANK YOU, to all that has rated this item, you just saved me $30!! This was my wish present this year for Christmas. I must admit, I'm not a baker or even one who likes to clean up messes. I seen this and thought, "I have to have this"! Guess I'm taking the advice given about using a tea towel to cover my bowl while using the mixer. Does not stay in place

I waited years for a Kitchenaid stand mixer. I just got one for Christmas and decided to try it out to make a bread yesterday. The mixer is wonderful and I'm so happy for it, but this shield is garbage. It would not stay in place at any point in time. Flour still was tossed all over the place from the edges because there isn't actually any kid of seal. I had to hold it in place the entire time or it would fall off. Definitely do not recommend the money for this accessory.

Doesn’t stay on

I just received the shield and other items for my kitchen aid for Christmas. I really wanted it but now I realize it is completely useless. It simply doesn’t fit onto the bowl. You can somehow barely snap it on but as soon as you turn on the machine it snaps right back off. What a bad design. I will now try to send it back. Safe your money and frustration and do not buy this!

Don’t waste your money

I was so excited to get this shield because I always make a mess when baking. With this shield I still make a mess. It needs to be one solid piece, or at least two pieces that snap together. Please bring back the two-piece shield that fits the bowl, or one solid piece. I love my Kitchenaid mixer, but I don’t like the mess.

I can't help but echo the sentiments of everyone else regarding the fit of this shield. It just doesn't fit. I was so excited to finally get a Kitchen Aid mixer and I love it so much, but i get sick to my stomach every time I see this pouring shield that was just a waste of money. Horrible design

I bought this for my young daughter who loves to cook. I was hoping that this would make it easier for her to add the wet and dry ingredients to the bowl without it spilling. The slightest touch of the cover and it will fall off making a bigger mess than not having it at all. Also having the gap in the top of the pour cover makes the flour come right back out after you pour it in.

Horrible! Save yourself the aggrevation!

I have been waiting for 4 years to purchase this mixer and was thrilled when it arrived yesterday. Thrilled until I went to install this pouring shield after washing it, that is. IT DOES NOT FIT PROPERLY! I specifically bought this model because it came with the shield! What a waste of money and I am tempted to send the entire thing back as I have friends who have the first version of the shield and they indicate they can’t live without it.

Don’t waste your money

Can’t believe that Kitchen Aid (always known as a good company) continues to sell this item. Like all the other reviewers have stated, it doesn’t fit on the bowl correctly and allows stuff to spatter all over. I spend as much time cleaning as I would if I didn’t use it at all.
