What Customers Are Saying
The pouring shield for the stand mixer appears to have significant design flaws, as it frequently falls off the bowl or fails to fully cover the pouring area. Many users report having to hold the shield in place while mixing, negating its intended purpose. The shield also does not seem to effectively contain spills and splatters, allowing ingredients to still make a mess. Overall, the consensus is that this accessory is poorly designed and does not function as intended.

Would Not RecommendI was so excited to get this pouring shield because I like to keep things clean when I’m baking. But this pouring shield sucks! It doesn’t snap on. It just sits on top of the bowl. Therefore it shifts a lot and moves. So I end up have to hold it still with one hand. Which means I still end up with a mess. I don’t recommend.

Wrong move change it back
I have had my Kitchenaide mixer since 1985. I love it! My 2 piece pouring shield finally broke. I replaced it with the one piece pouring shield available as a replacement. It has never fit correctly AND is not at all sturdy. Very disappointed in this Kitchenaide product, maybe change it back!

Poor fit
Would Not RecommendI bought this several years ago, and was excited to get it. Recently I was back on this website and realized the problems other people also had with this chute. I thought mine was just defective! I have a glass bowl, so perhaps that is the problem? I love the mixer but the chute is a no-go for me.

Disappointing reviews
Would Not RecommendBought my KitchenAid mixer a couple of months ago. Every time I make bread the flour flys every where. I thought I was doing something wrong. Decided to buy the pouring shield to prevent the mess. After looking at the reviews, I’ve decided to not buy the shield. So disappointed!

Poor
Would Not Recommendnot functional at all. not a secure fit around the mixing bowl

I hate this shield, please remake it.
Would Not RecommendCould it be more sturdy? It is really cheap, Fits poorly over bowl, with small plastic pieces that do not stay put. I would think when you purchase something as nicely made as a kitchen aid mixer you would get a quality shield as well. I wouldn't mind paying for a glass one if they make or something more solid . My last one was a more solid plastic which easily fit and stayed put and still was easy clean up.

doesnt clip onto bowl
Would Not Recommenddoesn't clip onto bowl flimsy poor design should be redesigned

Does not stay on
Would Not RecommendGot my kitchenaid mixer as a gift a few years ago, just used the shield for the first time and it does not stay on when mixer is on. Seems to be this way with everyone. Have you not come up with a solution to this problem? Other than this, I absolutely love my mixer.

Flimsy Use
Would Not RecommendFlimsy, easily falls apart unless working slow & careful not to touch the shield. It’s too bad you don’t design the bowls where there is enough room between mixer and bowl to add ingredients.

Could be MUCH better
Would RecommendI have the Artisan 5 quart mixer with a stainless steel bowl. Mine came with this shield and while it does make it easy to add ingredients if you are right-handed, it only SOMEWHAT keeps flour and liquids from escaping. Those who designed and/or tested this shield could have done a much better job. It could have been made to securely clip onto the rolled edge of the stainless bowl. It sits upon, but does not attach to the bowl. When I am kneading bread dough, the unit jumps around a bit so i...

Worthless
Would Not RecommendEvery time I use my mixer, I attempt to use the pouring shield but it ALWAYS comes off, mid-pour and makes a mess. If you can successfully pour something into the bowl without anything at all touching the shield and knocking it loose, please tell me how. There needs to be a better way to attach this thing so that it stays in place.

Poor Design
Would Not RecommendI love my kitchenaid mixer but this pouring shield is a terrible design. It doesn’t lock onto the bowl. It slides around and if you add dry ingredients it still splats out everywhere. It’s unfortunate because I use my mixer often and would have loved a good shield.

Poor design
Would Not RecommendIt were made a few millimeters smaller at the rim, it would have worked as designed. Apparently it wasnt tested. Useless.

Would RecommendI always use my shield. I have the artisan and this shield came with it. Well, my friend came over to make cookies. She's not a cook. She whips this thing on woth no shield and poof.... messy kitchen! I showed her how to use the shield and now she loves it. Messes happen without the shield when you run full speed amd you have ko idea what you are doing! I love it!

A Game Changer!
Would RecommendThis came with my mixer, which was a wedding gift. I had no interest in using the stand mixer at first (my mom never had one) but my MIL insisted I needed one. First time I used it I felt like the flour all went flying. Then tried using it with the shield. I now use my mixer all the time, and never without the shield! It seriously has changed my opinion of stand mixers, and makes using it a dream! I see a lot of bad reviews talking about it not fitting correctly, and you do have to take a ...

Would RecommendLast year I bought my first KitchenAid syand mixer in 54 years of marriage. I used it at our home up north and fell in love. WHo knew mising could be to easy!!?? When we returned to the other house, I couldn't live without the mixer so I bought a good used one. It came with the pouring shield. Again - I didn't know what I'd been missing, so as soon as I finish this review I plan to order another one! Then I plan to clean up the flour that sprayed around the kitchen when my husband baked coo...

One piece pouring shield
Would Not RecommendI bought the pouring shield. Didn’t fit my new Kitchen Aid mixer at all! Called Kitchen Aid and said it was worthless. They sent me another one. It was worse than the first one. So, now l have two pouring shields that are absolutely worthless. I have spent thousands of dollars buying kitchen aid refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, four slice toaster, etc. having said that, please refund my money for the shield. Also, the new and improved aqua clean stove is also worthless. Wish l had my old...

What is the point of this
Would Not RecommendThis came with my 5 Qt KitchenAid Artisan mixer - echoing the rest of the reviewers to say that the mixer is wonderful, but the shield is essentially a useless piece of plastic! It doesn't fit tight on the bowl, wobbles when the machine is not in use, and isn't effective even when manually held in place. Powdered sugar shot straight up the pouring funnel all over my benchtop, awesome.

Doesn't fit correctly
Would Not RecommendI purchased this pouring shield last year and I finally needed to use it for the first time. It is at least 1 inch too small for the bowl and falls right in. Totally useless and a waste of money!!
