I love to bake and using my standing KitchenAid mixer makes it so much easier because I could do other stuff while my baked item is being mixed. I also love cheese and grating cheese became tiring manually, so I love my grater attachment!

Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted this slicer/shredder for awhile now as I have had my KitchenAid mixer for 10 years now and in the last couple of years have started getting attachments, works well just throws food out at first then gets built up in it to were I have to take it off to get the food out.

Not built to last.
I loved loved loved this slicer shedder but the plastic pusher cracked with the plastic pieces all in my food. You can’t use it without the pusher. Definitely not built to last.

You really do need this
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic attachment! I make a lot of meals that require sliced or shredded veggies. I use this to shred carrots, lettuce, protestors, zucchini and other squashes, cheese, chocolate, you name it. Cleans really easily and the blades and pusher are dishwasher safe. Simple blade insertion and removal make for quick changeovers. This is one of my favorite things!

Great grift idea!

Design flaw
Would Not RecommendThis is my second one. The first one, I accidentally dropped and the feed snapped off. The second one, I accidentally dropped 8 inches into the sink, and the feed snapped off. Poor design. I guess I’m back to grating cheese by hand. Extremely disappointed.

Needs work.
There is a hard plastic ridge on the outside that interrupts the grate/slice action and bumps the food. It causes rolls of cheese to be on the outside when grating. Some third party attachments of the same type manage to be continuous steel all the way around for a consistent action, and I'd really like to see KitchenAid manage to do the same.

Saves time, mediocre design. Could be much better.
Would Not RecommendAnnually at Christmas I use this to make a family recipe potato dish, shredded from fresh spuds. It makes quicker work of it than a box grater but the overall design of this falls short otherwise. I really only use it for this one dish annually- shredding anything else is more annoying than useful. works well, not as good as expected
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it is faster than by hand BUT seems to get easily clogged, see the picture from when i shredded cheese. Your product gets stuck the sides so you have to stop and periodically remove your product. It was the same when i shredded potatoes, only worse it was a long piece, 3-4" depending how long your potato is, that wraps around the blade so no shredding happening until you clean it out.
