Inserts pop out

The inserts pop out of the housing. It happens even when I spin it by hand not attached to the mixer.

Poor Quality

Purchased 15 months ago and it is already broken. Used only to shred cheese and only used a handful of times. Very disappointed.

Only lasts for about a year

I’ve had this attachment for about a year. I use it weekly. All 3 of the plastic pieces to it have now broke. Will kitchenaid be making a solid metal cheese grater attachment any time soon? I’d rather not have to go buy an automatic grater from a different. company.

Coarse Shredder blade will not release

I bought this severe months ago along with a Pro Model lift Mixer and 2 other attachments. Today was the first time we used the Fresh Prep attachment Co(for Zucchini) and the blade will not release! Followed all directions carefully! A Goggle search suggests this happens frequently! Not happy!

Good feature, but...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This fresh prep attachment will doesn't go far too enough in to the mixer for the pin to lodge in the slo/ provided. So, the attachment isn't firmly held in place.

Poor design

Every time I shred cheese it sticks terribly. No matter how cold the cheese is. Makes getting the attachment apart extremely difficult.

Still not sure about my purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this awhile ago and tried to shred cabbage using the coarse shredding blade and it was too fine. Haven’t had occasion to try again using medium shredding blade. Hope that will be better.

Works Perfectly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this to shred fresh mozzarella for homemade pizza. Pop the fresh mozzarella in the freezer for 30 minutes and then shred with the large hole shredder, works beautifully.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] was given the shredder attachment as a birthday gift early July and have used it twice - once for cucumbers to make pickles and once for cheese for alfredo sauce. easy to connect and use and VERY SHARP.

Awesome Slicer and Shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I bought this Kitchenaid shredder/slicer attachments and love them. You can make zucchini noodles, shredded cheese etc. I also love the slicer attachment. We made zucchini ribbons with the kids and they loved them. I highly recommend buying this set.

Great while it worked

This shredder attachment was great when we could use it. After a couple of years of very light use, the clear feed tube sheered cleanly from where it connected to the white body of the attachment. I have to consider this a design flaw caused by inadequate support or surface area for what is obviously a focused stress area on the product. Our product was never abused or used in a way contrary to instructions -- it still looks brand new. I guess I can glue it back together, but this is very disap...

Love my KitchenAid attachments

They are easy to attach to my mixer and the clean up is just as easy!! I love being able to use my KitchenAid mixer for such a wide variety of tasks!

Used it a handful of times and the chute broke

I love this shredder and I've had it a few years. I have only used it a handful of times. Unfortunately, it slipped out of my hand onto my counter and the chute broke off. Based on the other reviews this is a common problem. The attachment point for the clear chute doesn't have a lot of overlap. Bummer.

Poor plastic design

When I first got this grater, I was really excited. It worked well, even though the chute was small. After about a month, when I was getting it out of the cabinet, the large food pusher fell out and hit the countertop (not a far drop) and cracked the plastic. I was disappointed but it was still functional. A few months later, the feed tube broke off the attachment housing. Loved it until it broke

I loved this product at first. After a few months of using it the plastic part broke off. Now it cannot use it.
