Great for shredding cheese!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago to replace my rotary cheese grater that was made of plastic and broke on me. This Fresh Prep Slicer/Shredder attachment is great for grating cheese that I use all the time. I have used it for slicing vegetables also, but it slices a bit too thin for salad vegetables to me. That will not keep me from using it for other things in the future though.

Save Your Money!

Purchased this with a stand mixer. The mixer is great; however, this slicer is junk. I have tried cucumbers, carrots, onions, and tomatoes so far, and all I got was a mushy mess from each vegetable. I followed the videos and instructions. It's not worth the money. I haven't tried the spiralizer yet hopefully it works better than this.

Good but.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate to rate it so low because most of it works great but the lagger plastic piece that pushed food into the shredder broke in the washing machine. Not sure how to get a replacement.

Mixer

I still love my red Kitchen Aid mixer as much as when it was brand new. It still works as good as it did from Day 1.

Easy to use…

Could be better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The attachment works well but would be better if the unit were larger in circumference to allow for better flow of the product being grated, slide Ed or shredded and would be even better if the slicing unit had more options for type of slice. Overall it functions well but could be better.

It was "grate", until it wasn't.

I bought this item in June of 2024, by the end of 2024 the clear tube that the cheese is fed into had snapped off completely and I can't reattach it to the grater. Now it is useless. I'm extremely disappointed in the quality and hope that customer service will make it right.

very handy

I use them monthly and they have never failed me, I've ground every thing from nut to chocolate to cheese.

So versatile!!

Received this as a gift and couldn’t be happier. So much easier than slicing or shredding by hand, and much quicker also.

Great Cheese Grater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a couple of weeks ago, and I love how easy it is to install and use. It was so easy!!! I have used it to grate cheese, walnuts and graham crackers (for my cheesecake)

Problem with shredder

I had only used my shedder a few times to shred cheese. It was awesome. The next time I used it the shredder attachment would not come out of the housing. My family and myself have tried several ideas to get it loose. So far nothing has worked. Now can not use the shredder attachment at all.

Cheap plastic that cracks

This product that I bought consists of cheap and weak plastic. It cracked after just a few uses. Waste of money. Only buy stainless steel. Kitchenaid accessories have declined in quality. Just guess where and why. Big disappointment.

It's okay...

I use this accessory primarily for grating cheese and creating hash browns from potatoes. My only complaint is that the shredding unit does not stay locked into position while it is being used and I usually have to force the shredder part out of the holder that contains the feed tube.

Great grater. Saves lots of time

I used to shred cheese by hand and it would take forever, but the shredder attachment saves me huge amounts of time! Love it!!

Works ok but top broke

Works ok the top broke off and now I have to hold it together. It still works but I would pay more for a sturdy product.
