Not impressed at all

I am not impressed with this attachment. Why did you change this to a cheap shredder that barely fits any food through it. Bring back the original shredder that you can fit chucks of cheese in it

Very lightweight

It worked very good until it broke very light weight compared to most Kitchenaid products.

Great and so useful - until it breaks

I just ordered another one of these. I previously bought one for me, one for my daughter, and one for my son. My son's (and daughter in law) used their's all the time until it broke. That has been my experience with Kitchenaid plastic attachments for years. Kitchenaid metal works for ever, but Kitchenaid plasic is poorly designed for regular use. I use this all the time. For cheese or veggies. They work great.

This is so much better than grating bigger portions of cheese or carrots on a box grater! So quick!

Nothing better than a KitchenAid mixer!

I've owned my KitchenAid stand mixer for four years and I've not had any issues with it. It's a phenomenal workhorse!

Not long lasting

Purchased the end of 2021 and it completely broke and fell apart when I used it last night. The plastic cylinder on top broke off from the base. Cheese would also get stuck in between the base and the rotating grater. Of course now it costs more to replace as well than a couple years ago.

Love it!

Nothing better than fresh grated Parmesan! I also use it for veggies. This summer prepped veggies for salsa, pepper jelly, canning!

I bought the Slice and Shred attachments for my KitchenAid stand mixer 3 months ago to replace my 30 year old Cuisinart food processor. I thought it would be great to cut down on the number of small appliances I have. Sadly, it is a poor replacement for the food processor. It gets all gummed up when you shred cheese with it and it will NOT shred cabbage! It did shred carrots ok, but it's a pain to use and you lose lots of food that gets stuck in the feeder tube. I should have paid attention to the reviews.

I tried to slice Brussel sprouts three times using the slicing blade and 1. It shredded them, not slice them. I ended up, pulling out my Hamilton Beach food processor to get them sliced. 2. It fell out of the mixer three times. The first time I thought, perhaps I did not have it tightened/screwed in enough. After making sure it was tightened all the way and there was no way to tighten it anymore, I try again. However it happened two more times. The housing would start spinning and then completel...

Easy to use

Bought to slice carrots, don't like it, doesn't work so well on carrots. Some of my carrots came out in pieces, not sliced.

Great Shredder!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Perfect for my carrot salad and any shredding I do… My only kind of issue is that the stain of the carrots is on the inside of the white cylinder .., wish I could get it off but I can’t but that’s OK .. works really well! I haven’t tried the other attachments yet, but I’m sure they will work just as well!!

Not worth it

I never got this to work very well. Food gets stuck between the rotating grater and the feed tube. Then the rotating grater jams. Also the food doesn’t come out of the device so you have to stop and fish it out. Finally the feed tube just popped off the white assembly and it can’t be repaired. Really sorry I bought this. Will be going back to a regular old food processor even though it uses up valuable counter space.

Waste of money

We have tried this accessory several times, but it is now gathering dust. The first part of a cucumber, for example, is cut well, but soon you have to disassemble the accessory because the skin gets stuck between blades and housing. Other types of vegetables also have the same problem. There just seems to be too much space between the housing and the blades.

Great attachment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stand Mixer Attachment is very easy to assemble. It really comes in handy when I have a lot of different food items to slice and grate. My only complaint is the attachment housing stained really bad after grating carrots and I wasn’t able to remove the stain. It would be better if the housing was black so that the stains wouldn’t be visible. Over all, I’m pleased with the attachment.

Weak construction

Sadly, despite hand washing the housing, the feed tube came off the base after only 10- 15 uses. Disappointed with the quality of the newer mixer and attachments. My old mixer lasted 25 years!

Love my Kitchen Aid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely LOVE my Kitchen aid mixer and I want all the attachments that go with it and I would use, so my husband got me this attachment. And I washed it and right away Began to shred and slice everything in sight. But the first thing we made was potato chips, then we made fries, shredded cheese. I am just loving my attachment.
