Great in smashing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love KitchenAid appliances. My last set lasted 17 years, so it was definitely time for an update. The trash compactor works great, everything is completely compacted into a nice little bundle.

Great Compactor

Broken foot pedal

I bought this unit brand new less than six months ago and the foot pedal is already broken. The foot pedal screw attaches to plastic and and is already worn out! My jenair lasted 15 years, this is junk already.

Terrible !!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Would have given it a zero if available We recieved it and whenbunboxed it had a broken foot lever. When we got that part replaced it was installed, once plugged in it made a horrible noise. Waiting for service, earliest appointment 3 weeks, waiting

KitchenAid Trash compactor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit looking on line. I should have gone to the store and tried several different brands out. This unit does not compact the garbage nearly as well as my Broan that I had to replace. Unfortunately Broan does not make compactors anymore or I would have bought another one. Very disappointed in the Kitchen Aid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have enjoyed this product with the "extra pack" feature. The only downside... it would have been nice to have an indicator light when the extra pack mode is on.

Damaged x 2

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been looking forward to using my new compactor, however, when we unpackaged the product, my builder (doing home renovations) told me it did not shut properly. I contacted the distributor and they had another one sent to me. The replacement was in better condition, but still had the SAME problem. I am not sure if its packaging, shipment or storage that is the issue but I am still without a functioning compactor, which is disappointing sin...

Already having repair issues 2 years in

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very disappointed that our trash compactor is already needing repairs and it is only 2 years old. We have had compactors in the past that never needed repairs. We have always liked having a trash compactor. I don't think we will every install another one.

Makes Great, Tasty Ice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this to go into our kitchen remodel. Ours is panel ready, so the front is the same as our cabinets. It makes great "chewable" ice. We should have read more closely though, because it does not have a freezer unit, so the ice melts, but the cubes stay separated. It stays cold, but not solidly frozen. Does not come with a filter, which is pricey.

Works ok - is loud

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had an older version of this model that finally began to have problems after 25 years of faithful service. Not bad! This new version is fine...I like the towel bar on the front. I miss having controls on the outside rather than inside. The new model is louder and more annoying, which I don't like. I think it is overpriced.

LOVE MY KITCHENAID TRASCH COMPACTOR

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced all my kitchen appliances and have always had a KITCHENAID compactor. I donated my original black KItchenaid to the township. It was still working great. All my new appliances are stainless steel. The kitchenaid compactor is a must in my world and matches beautifully with my kitchenaid dishwasher.

Difficult to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We inherited a brand new trash compactor from the previous b owners of the home that we recently bought. After using it for a week the door would not open. The repairman came and could not figure out the problem, he ordered parts and we await a return repair visit. The parts are coming to our home and once we tec I’ve them it is up to is to contact the repair company again to schedule a follow up visit.

It works so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I followed install directions for granite counter top. Looks bad. I took out and reinstalled. Looks great. We used it once so far and works well. We shall see how it holds up..

My 3rd Kitchenaid trash compactor!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3rd Kitchenaid trash compactor….installed myself and followed the install and cutout instructions to the letter. They are too big in height and width by 1/2”…..now I have to add trim to my install to dress and make it look correct as well as matching trim to my dishwasher to make my kitchen lol right….What a disappointment!
